the max 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2004 I hate Crapplebees, but enjoy restaurants like it, like Chilis and Ruby Tuesday. If it were up to me to pick a place to eat though, I'd pick the 99. I wish we had a 99 down here.
Guest PINKPANTRESS814 Report post Posted September 4, 2004 Last time I went to Applebee's was two years ago when I ordered a well-done hamburger. When I got the thing, it was still half raw ! I sent it back, got a done burger, left a penny tip, and haven't been back since. TGI Friday's isn't all that IMO either. On the other hand, I have yet to have a bad experience at Eat n Park

And usually I am pretty damned good at eating stuff, despite my 160lb-ness.
Guest CronoT Report post Posted September 23, 2004 We have two Hudson's Bar and Grill restaurants in El Paso, where I live. Ironically, we don't have any Texas Roadhouse restaurants where I live, in Texas. You should also Check out Brisket BAR-B-Q, if you have one near you. Those have lots of great southwestern/southern style foods, and they almost always have football games or other sporting events on their TV's. The restaurant my family goes to has mutiple DirecTV hookups, so they always show all the NFL games every Sunday. No one should ever pass up a chance to go to Outback Steakhouse. The food there is great, and while they're never crowded to the point of overflowing, they always seem to have at least one table available, no matter how big your party is. About a month ago, my extended family of about 10-12 people, myself included, tried to go to Cheddar's. It was so packed, we were told it would be at least 1-1 1/2 hours before we got seated, not to mention how long it would take to get our orders and such. So, we walked over to Outback Steakhouse, and within 30 minutes of our whole party getting there, we were all seated and all got our orders. Also, for all of you professing the Applebee's hate, I've got a story for you: My sister and my step-sister, both of whom have a child around 3 years of age, went there to eat about a month ago. The hostess took one look at them, and then made them wait while serveral other parties were being seated. Finally, the hostess came and took them to a room in the far back. They said they past by at least 4 or 5 empty tables on their way back. The hostess took them to the "Family Room," which was full of screaming, whining children that were running around with pretty much no supervision at all. They got their food after about 45 minutes, and they said it wasn't that good. Now, I don't know about how everyone else on here raises their children; but in our family, we teach our children that meal time is not play time. So, when they were getting ready to leave, they told the manager that they were upset that they got seated back there, when there had been several ready tables. He apologized, and said it was restaurant/company policy to put families with young children back there. To which my step-sister, with her usual wit and razor-sharp tongue, replied, "We'll, don't ever expect us to come back again." They didn't leave tip, incase you were wondering. The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 I've never had much of a problem with Applebee's (then again, I don't have kids, so that part of the equation is a non-factor for me). I like the taste of the riblets, but for the life of me, I don't understand why they make them with all those little pain in the ass bones in them. Just make them boneless, and they'll have a gold mine. Also, I have to give big ups to their carry out service. I placed an order on the phone, drove there and my order was delivered to me in my car all within 15 minutes. I figured no way they'd get it done that quick, so when they did, I actually got into work early.
Styles 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Hmm....Applebees was rated #1 by consumer reports in their category (casual family dining or whatever). I've always liked Applebees, burgers are good and I love the riblets, usually can't finish them since they give you a large portion. So color me a dissenter, I guess. razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I would to promote the fine establishment known as Duke's Roadhouse. If you feel like spending $10 on some average food that is suppose to be Tex-Mex then this is the place for you. If you like sports then get your fat ass near one of the big screen tvs that are everywhere. If you feel like spending $5-$10 on the Golden Tee golf then go there or if you feel like playing some pool then go upstairs. Basically its a Hooters with more things to distract you from the bad food and a place to waste alot of money.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 ...The hostess took them to the "Family Room," which was full of screaming, whining children that were running around with pretty much no supervision at all... Well, Applebee's just scored a few more points in my book for that. If you bring your little bastards into a public eatery, you deserve to be seated in the back, away from the non-families, with your "own kind." (Awaits a Mr. Rant "My-daughter-doesn't-do-that" reply...)
