Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 First he broke Maven's finger in a match about a month ago and now he has ended DDP's career. What is next for this guy? WWF doesn't seem to be stopping him. They just let him keep doing it. Who will be next on the injured list thanks to Bob Holly?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 30, 2002 well it looks like Bob Holly is the local hooker/hitman for the WWF. And lets not forget Bob getting rough with the cast of Tough Enough, leaving palm prints on everybodies chest.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Maybe it's because he's INTENSE~!! Or maybe he's a HOSS~!!
Guest kane3212321 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Well you hear JR, wrestling isn't ballet, Bob must just be finding his aggresiveness on his way to being a hoss
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I guess the same reason they keep Lita & Test around. He really ended DDP's career?
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Sick as it may sounds, breaking a finger really isn't considered a major injury. You just take the necessary precautions and work through it. I think last Smackdown, HGH had a splint on one of his fingers, so a minor injury like that a person works through. As for DDP, i'm not sure if his injury was a freak one, or just the climax of years of bumping. Either way, it's hard to blame Holly for something like that. Even for the freak injury, if you remember the old, great, Attitude promos, they said "when you step between those ropes, bad things do happen." They happened to Droz, to HGH, and now to DDP. A wrestler steps into the ring knowing that that could potentially be their last match. It is the risk they are willing to take to entertain the fans. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I find it funny that at the WWF training camp over the weekend they talked out against the recent trend of indy workers stiffing the crap out of each other. They likened it to Backyard wrestling and said the WWF doesn't like it, and they are all about looking believable but not working stiff. Someone should tell Hardcore about company policy. Not to mention all of the times on the WWF website how they talked about how they would send the APA to work with new teams and stiff the crap out of them. Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted April 30, 2002 I'm not sure why they are blaming Holly on WWF.COM. DDP's back was hurting him a lot before he even wrestled Holly. The Observer said that he was in a lot of pain when he got to the arena that night and they told him to go to the doctor so he went the very next day. Apparently, Holly did give him a stiff clothesline during the match that didn't help matters any. Since DDP was injured before the match I wonder if it was discussed between the wrestlers or by management for Holly to work looser than usual.
Guest Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Yeah, i read on WWF.com that DDP may have injured himself on a messed up suplex with Holly. I imagine it has been a combination of years of abuse and this one bad bump. Who knows, this could have been inevitable and happened in a match with Lance Storm, one of the lightest workers in the WWF.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 30, 2002 Maybe Holly's just sloppy. I actually would blame him for breaking his arm against Angle. I mean, he knew Angle was coming down on him, and he still held his arm in that position.
Guest Report post Posted May 1, 2002 People Holly should wrestle: Hardyz Mark henry Hunter Edge Christian Bossman Undertaker All of the McMahons (stop them from getting itno another ring) nWo

I mean, he knew Angle was coming down on him, and he still held his arm in that position. >>> Angle wasn't exactly on-target with his moonsault in that match---and can we at least credit Holly with finishing the match in spite of the bad injury? Is Holly stiff? Yes. But does he injure a lot of guys? No. Broken fingers happen all of the time. Any fluke thing can cause a finger injury. And DDP has had back problems in the past. Isn't that why he took up yoga in the first place? -=Mike
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I agree with the guy above my post.
Guest Report post Posted May 1, 2002 it was a clothesline guys... a stiff one, but come on. When guys like Hogan throw sloppy weak clotheslines, everyone points it out. DDP's back had been bothering him for a while. Blaming Holly for ending DDP's career is just a little harsh don't you think? If bumping for a clothesline fucked his back up even more, what would've happened if he had faced Angle, and Angle gave him a German suplex? That injury was bound to happen... and it's a shame, but this is wrestling
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted May 1, 2002 If you watched the Tough Enough thing, the guys wanted Holly to do that to them, to see how it felt to take a really stiff chop to the chest. It wasn't done just to stiff them up and be a bitch about it.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I wouldn't blame Holly for DDP. But I still hate him.
Guest Report post Posted May 1, 2002 Didn't DDP say even back in WCW that he knew he was wrestling on borrowed time? I feel right sorry for the man, but you can't blame Holly.

One of these days he's (Hardcore) going to do it to the wrong person, and leave on a stretcher. I just hope I get to see it so I can laugh at the dumbass. Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I wouldnt blame Holly, DDP is in bits anyway I doubt hel'l retire Anyway, didnt Cole put Holly over as Vince's strongarm or something on Smackdown
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Never listen to anything Michael Cole says. He's too drunk on Vince's juices to see straight. (Okay, YOU explain how he got and has kept his job)

I like Hardcore but that's a double standerd. Why do all you guys hate Holly so much?
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted May 2, 2002 The evidence against Holly in this case is that he does intentionally work a very stiff style and, given the past, hasn't really made an effort to change much of it for his opponents. They won't blame or de-push Holly, per se, since he's not really doing anything at the moment other than Tough Enough, but some more fragile wrestlers (i.e. Benoit & Rhyno when they come back) will probably be a little apprehensive with working with him and that will damage his career more than anything. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Fire Bob Holly IMMEDIATELY. The man has NEVER been over, is not a good wrestler, but he bitches on end for months about not being on TV. He finally makes it on TV (Despite not having talent) and what does he do? The jaded asshole works superstiff, injures people and ends a man's career. FIRE HIM! Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 2, 2002 injures people and ends a man's career. FIRE HIM! yeah didnt he injure Kurt? Dooo-ooop that was the other way around wasnt it? just kidding, it was just too easy of an opening to pass up!
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 2, 2002 But Kurt wasn't wrestling a style that was meant to injure. Bob Holly tries to hurt people with his super stiff shots.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 2, 2002 i was kidding!!! I know Holly is stiff and agree with the double standard talk
Guest Report post Posted May 2, 2002 I personally don't like Bob Holly. I never have. The guy is a mediocre wrestler, and appears to be an asshole in real life. There is no need to still have the guy around. He had a good run with the WWF, its now time to pack it all in. Bon Voyage Bob!.......dickhead.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 3, 2002 But if Bob Holly didn't have a job with the WWF, he'd probably be in jail for assault. They're doing him a favor. He just seems like he'd get into a bar fight with some guy who was like, "You suck, Hardcore." He's one of those guys who needs to either wrestle, play a sport, or do Toughman to channel his aggression.
