Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 1, 2002 on the heels of another cliched, yet entertaining, episode (FOREIGNER) what are your favorite and least favorite episodes? least favorite: a toss up between Megadeth and Anthrax. Two bands I like but they were awful. Megadeth's for the blatant lying .. and mining of Cliff Burton's death (which was already done in Metallica's). Anthrax's for MINING THE DEATH OF CLIFF BURTON.. FOR A THIRD TIME!!!! and the whole anthrax scare stuff. ugh. if another thrash band gets a BTM and even mentions Cliff, im going to shoot the TV. best: Styx. its just the apex of all the cliches that everyone after has fallen to. (close runners up: Weird Al or Rocky Horror). Needs to have one: Radiohead, Tool, the cure
Guest swan Report post Posted May 1, 2002 Needs to be done: Motorhead/Lemmy Good god the guy was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, got kicked out of Hawkwind for being busted for drugs and went on to start the most influential thrash/metal band of all time, Motorhead. That would have to be a 2 hour special in my book. I also didn't care for the Megadeth one. Can't really name a favorite.
Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted May 1, 2002 i'd love to see one on Korn, i know most of ya don't really like them, but I do so....i'd really like to see one on Guns N' Roses but Axl would NEVER let that happen, though I'm sure the others would be more than happy to tell what they know... Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted May 1, 2002 i liked ac/dc, blind melon, green day, and the 1992 one. i didnt at all like: metallica, anthrax, or the 1969 one. tool, nirvana, rage, soundgarden, and stone temple pilots all need to have a BTM.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I liked: Twisted Sister, blind melon, and rocky horror I disliked : Dr. Dre (too short) I would like to see: Eminem, Slick Rick
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted May 1, 2002 God I HATE the "Behind the Music" ones where they do a year. Just about every one of those was a bunch of political propaganda.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 1, 2002 Like: Most of the timeline eps except 75, 87, 99 and 00. Hate: Alanis Morrisette - It was the single most boring hour of television ever. Corporate Rock or Glam Rock editions grate on my nerves as well.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted May 2, 2002 The AC/DC, Weird Al, and Ozzy/Black Sabbath episodes were the best by far. Funniest part in Weird Al's is where they kinda parody thereselves. Usually in the "BTM" episodes there'll be a 30-10 minute segment where it's a really depressing view of the musician's life, usually drug related. Well, for Weird Al, he never really had any "low" points in his life, so instead of doing that, they did something like this..... Narrator: "When we come back, Weird Al hits an all time low in his career...." Screen cuts to Weird Al, who is sobbing. Al: (crying) "And then, my next album only went gold instead of platinum! The horror!" Hehe, still get a kick out of it, got it on tape somewhere, should probably look it up sometime.

Al: " I had to settle for the medium sized jacuzzi..wahhhh" Classic. I also liked the ones on Rocky Horror, Ozzy, Blondie, and Public Enemy. The one on Oasis was freakin hilarious. I disliked the one on No Doubt. C'mon, did THEY really deserve a BTM??? They should do one on Rage Against the Machine since it looks like Zach is gone for good. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Who needs one? RATM. Tool. Garth Brooks. Too Early for One? Creed. Good band but jesus! wait until Mark and Scott have fights and Scott P. gets hooked on Meth and crash his scooter into a church, for Hilliare to sue her ex-husband. Mark Tremonti to have a sex video with Pam Anderson and for Scott and Marilyn Manson to have a sorrid gay affair.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted May 2, 2002 What about Aerosmith? And if they ever did a follow up behind the music, to pick up where they left off, I'd nominate Metallica for BTM2. The Napster lawsuits, Jason quits and James go to rehab.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Pick up off Ozzy since so much has changed since his. Besides...I coulda swore there was a Aerosmith...
Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 3, 2002 if there's a question about who theyve done one on: http://www.vh1.com/shows/series/behind_the_music/ click on other episodes, all in alphabetical order
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted May 3, 2002 Worst: Creed. This played more like a promotional tool for the band than anything else. It was made when they had two albums out. That is not sufficient. Plus, they suck and it was boring. Best: Motley Crue, of course. As much as I dislike them, that was pretty entertaining. Nikki Syxx dying, being revived, and then going back to his hotel and shooting up again...that's rock and roll stupidity. Which is really what these shows are all about, anyway. I'd like to see The Clash or Elvis Costello.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted May 3, 2002 I liked: Twisted Sister, blind melon, and rocky horror whoo hoo blind melon fan!(or someone that saw their BTM other than myself and 3 ppl that watched it with me)
Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2002 like to see Rage Against the Machine Won't ever happen bro cuz they would be too political for VH1 and besides, Zack doesn't usually do T.V. interviews and VH1 would be afraid that the other members would spew anti-goverment, anti-corporate propaganda. He never had the typical "rock-style childhood" (broken home, abused, run away) he just had an average life and I think that's more interesting because in today's music biz, all musicians have to have a fucked up life to be sucessful (Eminem anyone?) What was also funny was at the beginning of Weird Al's Behind The Music when he said "I never took drugs, I've never drank, I've never had sex without marriage, I've never been arrested, I've never gambled, and I've never killed SO WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT FROM ME?!!!!" Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Favorite would have to be Weird Al. Also liked Blind Melon and Motley Crue. Worst: Creed- They blow massive cock and it was way too soon for anything worthwhile to happen. It was mostly just the story of Scott Stapp's life. Honorable Mention: Milli Vanilli- If only for the scene where the tape stuck. That was so funny. Leif Garrett- He's supposedly going to reform his life, then at the end they tell us he was arrested for drug posession a short time after taping the show. Vanilla Ice- I love the way he admits he was a TOTAL sellout.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Best: Motley Crue Worst: Too many to name Layne Staley just died so maybe a AIC Behind the Music is in the works.
Guest DokDoyle Report post Posted May 12, 2002 I can't believe no one has meantioned the absolute worst one ever: Chris Gaines:Behind the Music When Garth Brooks did the album, they did a BTM. and everyone was so damn serious on it it was really, really weird. As for the best one, The One they did on Cat Stevens was the most interesting.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 17, 2002 How could you not like the Vanilla Ice one? My favorite part is when Ice overdoses on drugs at a party full of people...and no one takes him to the hospital. They just poured water on him and prayed. Too funny. Who needs one? I'd say Kid N' Play, Eazy-E, and Luke Campbell.
