Break-ups and your record collection (ii)

Right, well, the idea here is that anyone with a reasonably active social life will have some albums that they associate with an ex-girlfriend/boyfriend.  This can quite often make it painful to listen to these albums, because of the memories and the bitterness and all that.

For me, it's basically anything I listened to consistently between the summers of 1999 and 2000.  I dated this girl throughout that period of time, and whenever we would do...stuff we'd listen to music.  So, for instance, I can't hear Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted or Beck's Midnite Vultures without feeling simulatenously miserable and aroused.

So, let's share.

glassjaw - "everyhting you ever wanted to know about silence"

joy division - "still"

cure - "wish AND disintegration"

nick drake - "bryter later"

lucinda williams -"car wheels...."

and the biggest of all ...

Afghan Wigs - "Gentlemen"

some of those have twice the impact due to the nature of them..being basically written about the feelings..

I don't really associate any album I own with a relationship, as every person I've gone out with hasn't really been into much power and thrash metal...

Staind was a CD that I got when it was pretty popular and a lot of the material on it reminds me of the girl that broke my heart just over a year ago.  I had to get rid of it.

Me and my exes song was "stellar" by incubus.

Myself and my Ex-two timing whore's song was Foo Fighters "Everlong". Even though I hate her, I still love that fucking song.

Anything by Dashboard Confessional. This guy got MESSED UP by some two-timing girl. But it's great mellow music...
