Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 1, 2002 I got a great recipe from the old board and love it so ill shar it here CARBONARA cook some pasta (any kind, but Pastina is best) fry some bacon in olive or garlic oil crack open 1-2 eggs and put in a bowl when the pasta is done drain it, and throw it in the bowl with the eggs mix it up and the heat will cook the eggs. break up the bacon and put into the bowl and mix. put a couple o' spoonfuls of ricotta cheese in there and mix. eat. sooooooooo goooooooooooood. your body will feel ridiculously heavy afterwards though... Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Here's a weird dish I cooked last week for me and a friend around 4 in the morning. Take 4 sliced Bagels Get a large bowl. Insert about 4 handfuls of Montery Jack shredded chese add a 1/4 pound of Crab meat (shreded) Add a egg A sprinkle of OLD BAY SPICE and 2 slices Turkey(Shreded) (sub Ham or other meat as desired) Mix the bowl well for about 5 minutes. Guest starvenger Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I dunno if this works for all non-citrus fruits, but here's what you do: - get some fruit (I've tried this with pineapples, bananas and apples) - Slice the fruit - saute the fruit in some butter - add a shot (or two) of Grand Marnier or rum - let it cook for about 30 seconds - light that sucker up - let the flames die down - serve over vanilla ice cream, sprinkle some icing sugar and/or cinnamon as desired Give it a shot - it's pretty simple... Cherries Jubilee over Vanilla Ice Cream, Bananas Foster over Vanilla Ice Cream and Crepes Suzette(oranges) with Whipped Cream and Powdered Sugar. You probably would want to alter the liquor to match the fruit (cherry,banana and citrus liquors for example, plus the Grand Marnier, but you would want to light the Grand Marnier first and then add the the other) Best way for a novice to light a pan with alcohol is to take one of those lighters thats long with the trigger and put to the end of the lighter about 6 inches away from the top of the pan and light it. Works better than trying to tilt the pan and its not as dangerous. Oh, and I've decided that I'm going to have a recipe of the week on my site when I get it started, mainly because I have so many stored away from the last two years of College. Guest Karnage Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Here's a recipe for sweet and sour sauce...you never know when you need some. 1 part sugar 1 part vinegar 1 part water quarter cup of ketchup 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce a little cornstarch water a little hot pepper sauce and ginger Stir all the ingredients together except for the cornstarch water in a saucepan over medium heat.
