reign 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 I know that his movie isn't knew but I had heard ZERO about and saw that every critic on the cover including Ebert and Roper had great things to say and then I watched it and well...if you don't want to be spoiled then stop right here because this movie is messed all the fuck up.....if you've seen this I'd like some thoughts and I have a question. Is Alex pregnant at the end of this movie when she's lying on the grass or does it just look that way. I think that it she is and that Gasper Noe is for once in the movie going out of the movie's "Memento-like" sequence and revealing that she does live and that she does stay pregnant...even through that horrible ordeal...I would like to know some of your thoughts on what is maybe the most disturbing movie I've ever seen. dubq 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 I had to pause this movie halfway through and that a break.. a] for what happens to Alex, it's just brutally intense, and b] because that camera effect was making me sea sick!!
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 My cousin has this movie on DVD and he always recommends it but I haven't seen it yet. I just might pick it from his shelf and see what the fuss is all about.
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 I hope you're not easily disturbed.. The rape scene is brutal..
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 Well, I hope I'm not. I understand it's very very graphic, so we'll see. I believe I can stomach those kinds of scenes. It's movies like Cannibal Holocaust that I can't bring myself to see and probably never will.
reign 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 Well it was like nothing I've ever seen before...the film on a whole was on a completely different level...I hate what happens in that scene but for some reason I would recomend this movie to anyone but not because I think they'll "like" the film but because of the impact it will have on them. It is horrible and amazing at the same time.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted September 21, 2004 The rapes not brutal...ok it is but what really gets you is that it's at least 15 minutes long and feels like an eternity. I don't think the ending is in the present time. I have Noe's other movie I Stand Alone on a dvd-r.Haven't watched it yet but it's got the guy who's talking in the apartment in the beginning of Irreverrsible about how he had sex with his daughter. That's probably what I Stand Alone is about as it's spose to be the same character.
