Bored Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 National television schedule for this week. Only one regional timeslot for ABC. I'm not going to try to figure out if everyone actually can see every FSN game listed. No real marquee match-up this week (Iowa/Michigan probably would have been it but both are limping into this one) but we are starting to get into regular conference play. THURSDAY #4 Miami at Houston, 7:45/4:45 PM, ESPN FRIDAY Bowling Green at Northern Illinois, 7:00/4:00 PM, ESPN2 BYU at #21 Boise State, 10:00/7:00 PM, ESPN SATURDAY N.C. State at Virgina Tech, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN Kentucky at #16 Florida, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2 Boston College at Wake Forest, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2 (regional?) Washington at Notre Dame, 3:30/12:30 PM, NBC Iowa at #18 Michigan, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Clemson at #8 Florida State, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Washington State at Arizona, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Alabama at Arkansas, 3:30/12:30 PM, CBS Texas Tech at Kansas, 3:30/12:30 PM, FSN Penn State at #20 Wisconsin, 5:45/2:45 PM, ESPN #1 USC at Stanford, 7:00/4:00 PM, TBS Rice at #5 Texas, 7:00/4:00 PM, FSN Northwestern at #19 Minnesota, 9:00/6:00 PM, ESPN2 Oregon State at #22 Arizona State, 10:15/7:15 PM, FSN (local only?)
Bored Posted September 24, 2004 Author Report Posted September 24, 2004 Houston has been surprisingly competitive tonight with Miami. Although you know the game is over as Corso is talking about the Yankees and Red Sox.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Mike Stoops' Pac-10 debut as Josh Swogger comes in with an astounding (for him anyway, considering Wazzu soph QBs usually haven't been the greatest, see Gesser, Leaf as sophs) 7-2 TD/INT ratio--ok four of them came against Idaho. Wazzu's fourth trip to Tucson since 2000, as a lot of Pac 10 teams will be making similar ventures. Someone wanna get the P10 scheduling dept. on the horn?
Bored Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 Mild upset as Northern Illinois beats Bowling Green 34-17. Boise State and the blue turf on ESPN now.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 The funny thing is: Each team ended the other's unbeaten run the last two years. This year, no Josh Harris or Michael Turner, so it was your usual MAC matchup.
Bored Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 Boise State's 13 game winning streak in serious jeopardy, down 27-22 in the 4th to BYU. They led 16-0 at one point. Edit: BYU's kicker misses a 38-yard field goal to win it. Boise State survives 28-27.
Bored Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 I need to start double checking the t.v. schedule. Florida/Kentucky is on ESPN2 right now instead of later. I have Dish Network and BC/Wake is on the ESPN2 alternate channel. Also looking at the channel guide for the FSN games I'm getting Rice/Texas but not the Oregon State/Arizona State game. I guess OSU/ASU is local only which is a real damn shame.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 They just moved the UK/Fla game yesterday so that's probably why.
Der Kommissar Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 What's up with Maryland/Duke? When I first saw it, I wrote it off as a quick Maryland squash, but Duke is hanging in there, only losing by 3. Has Duke improved or is Maryland just playing a horrid game?
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 I think Duke's improved a little bit (they're not in the bottom 10 anymore ba-bee!!!) but not enough to challenge any of the ACC midcarders--they got the crap beat out of em by Va Tech last week. Just chalk it up to prolonged WVa disappointment.
Damaramu Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Why is there no 11:00 or 12:00 games on ABC?
Bored Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 Virginia Tech misses a field goal in the final second to lose 17-16 to N.C. State. Wake Forest just connected on a long touchdown pass to go up 17-14 on Boston College with about a minute left in the game.
2GOLD Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 In the "What the hell?!?!" game news Furman 38 Pittsburgh 31 with 6:00 left in the game.
2GOLD Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 TD Pittsburgh, tying the game up at 38-38. Furman to punt with 3:00 left in the game.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 WhyTF we're sitting here tied with Arizona 7-7 at half doesn't give me the greatest of confidence that we're gonna do anything great in the Pac 10 this year. Oh well it's good to see the Irish ass-pounding of UW that I predicted the minute Wazzu lost to them (ND) last year is in effect
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 *sigh* Pitt ALMOST lost that game. MAN.
Downhome Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 My God, Justin Miller just returned ANOTHER kickoff for a TD for Clemson, making that two in this single game. The guy almost had a third one earlier. "It's easy, it's so easy!", heh.
2GOLD Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Oh well it's good to see the Irish ass-pounding of UW that I predicted the minute Wazzu lost to them (ND) last year is in effect Notre Dame found a running back and suddenly they can play offense. And where the hell did Brady Quinn come from? He has been sub par the first couple of games but today he has 4 TDs and is crushing the Huskies into a fine paste.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 It's bad enough that the Wazzu offense is helping them out, but christ these officials are doing their damndest to help UA here. Why the fuck does Stoops get to fly out on the field TWICE and not get penalized for it? Forget bowl games, we're on track to have the first Apple Cup in a while where NEITHER the Cougs or Huskies are gonna have to worry about any of that. EDIT: HOLY FUCKING SHIT, Cougs score on a fumble with 1:30 left. This is a fucking miracle!!!!!!!
Bored Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 And Arizona fumbles it trying to run out the clock and Wazzu runs it back for a touchdown to take the lead. Unbelievable. No wait, player ruled down by contact. Wazzu ball.
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 How much did Stoops pay each of these fucks off? Stoops is out on the goddamn field again! This is like fucking four times today!
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Touchdown, HOLY SHIT!!!!!! Hey I'll take being the most unimpressive 3-1 team in the nation, as long as it's 3-1. HOLD 'EM!!!!!!
Guest GreatOne Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 Heavner's 4th down bomb incomplete, Cougs unbelievably win 20-19. 3-1, I'll take it with the bye week next up. Ironically, this game was originally scheduled for next week
Bored Posted September 26, 2004 Author Report Posted September 26, 2004 Stanford takes a 14-10 lead on USC in the 2nd quarter. I'm not going to get too excited just yet but Stanford just looks great and the have USC defense completely confused right now.
2GOLD Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Stanford takes a 14-10 lead on USC in the 2nd quarter. I'm not going to get too excited just yet but Stanford just looks great and the have USC defense completely confused right now. And Leinhart gets picked off as his receiver gets CRUSHED between two defenders and the ball pops into the air. First and 10 Stanford on the USC 35.
Bored Posted September 26, 2004 Author Report Posted September 26, 2004 Fake field goal run for the touchdown, 21-10 Stanford!
Damaramu Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 GO STANFORD! KILL THE TROJANS! If Stanford wins then....MY BOYS BECOME #1!!!!
2GOLD Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 USC looks more confused than a horny bi-sexual at an orgy. And now Leinhart is getting on track but Stanford is showing some life in this one.
Bored Posted September 26, 2004 Author Report Posted September 26, 2004 HOLY SHIT!!!! Stanford trying to run out the clock in the first half and J.R. Lemon takes it the distance!!!!!!!!! 28-17 at the half.
Damaramu Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 OH MY GOD! WHAT A RUN! I WAS GOING NUTS!
