Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 3, 2002 If you think THAT was off-the-wall, wait until Sunday. Mike talks about kicking children in the head and stomping on their testicles. No lie.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Well, considering he's involved in a profession where the object is to beat a man unconscious, why are we surprised/shocked at Tyson's behavior?
Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 4, 2002 "Well, considering he's involved in a profession where the object is to beat a man unconscious, why are we surprised/shocked at Tyson's behavior?" Because Tyson goes well beyond boxing's inherent barbarism. There's nothing wrong with doing your job, but once you start biting people's ears off, cheating, and sounding like a psycho jackass everytime you flap your gums, then someone needs to do something about you. Go Lennox.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Tyson has been fighting bums after the ear biting incident I dont think he's ready fight somebody like lennox, I think thats why he pulled that stunt at the press conference. On side note I wanna hear him say I WANNA EAT YOUR WIFE AND KIDS AGAIN, He'll proably say they taste like chicken.

Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 5, 2002 "Go Tyson" I hope Tyson gets beaten like a punk bitch in the middle of the ring. I rarely invest the emotional energy it takes to hate people, but I fricking hate Mike Tyson, and nothing would please me more than to see someone beat him to a pulp on live TV. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 5, 2002 As sad as it is, The boxing indrusty NEEDS Mike Tyson to beat Lewis next month. Tyson is the last remaining big name boxer left. Lennox Lewis will retire on top and leave The Boxing Game without any stars to keep it stable, while freak shows like Reid/Holyfield get publicity, it really does not keep the game afloat. I'm pretty convinced that this is an act by Mike Tyson. He is trying to psych out Lewis by doing his crazy actions. It's working, I think. So well, he scared himself into thinking about what serious damage he could do to Lennox Lewis. It's rare that Boxing will display a shakesperian storyline. You have the kind, gentle effeminate warrior Vs the dreck of society, the scum but yet, there is something compelling about that scum. Although you know he deserves pain, you some how, somewhere manage to find sympathy in his way. We remember this once gallant warrior that was invincible and we want him back, he needs to regain what was supposed to his, KINGDOM. However, there's another side that wants him to wither away and croak. It's a battle of emotions. It won't be pretty but it will be poigant.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 5, 2002 This will be like all other Tyson fights. He'll lose in the 8th round, and do something stupid like kick Lewis in the groin after the bell rings than ESPN will say how awful boxing's become. Of course when Tyson fights in Manilla they'll be covering it and ignoring the talented boxers who if given some air time and proper attention might be able to help boxing get back some respect it once had. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I hope Tyson gets beaten like a punk bitch in the middle of the ring. I rarely invest the emotional energy it takes to hate people, but I fricking hate Mike Tyson, and nothing would please me more than to see someone beat him to a pulp on live TV. The word is that Tyson looks ready for this fight, and all of the delays have given him more time to get prepared. As far as him being beaten like a punk bitch, you shoul say you want him beaten like a Lennox Lewis in the middle of the ring.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I saw the interview and I taped it as well. I think the reporter did a very good job. He was asking questions that he didn't prepare because he had to improvise the whole thing. It looked as if ESPN wasn't going out of their way to sensationalize things or make Tysn look like an asshole. They didn't focus on some of the things that Tyson detractors woul have focused on, instead they focused on letting Tyson tell his side of the story. In a way, I understood what Tyson was saying. The interviewer asked him about the idea of being compared with the all-time greats. Tyson said that he had surpassed them as far as being the biggest fighter in the history of the sport. He cited the money that his fights have generated as his proof of this. I can't disagree with him there. The interviewer then asked him if there was a hypocritical state in the media because Tyson was talking about how he was angelic yet scum at the same time. Tyson responded yb saying win lose or draw, they would all eat. The media doesn't care about him and he doesn't necceasrily care about them. He said that he couldn't win against the media because they had better a hand to play than him. Tyson went on to say that in a way, he felt that he had won because he didn't expect to live as long as he has or do the things that he has done (make as much money as he has, fornicate with the women that he has, have the beautiful children that he has). The reporter than made a comparison between Tyson and Mickey Mantle, saying that Mickey Mantel lived like he would never become and old man because he never expected to be an old man. When he became an old man, was saying that he only wished he would have taken better care of himself when he was younger. Tyson responded by saying that despite all of his hardships, Mickey Mantle was never a n*****. He said that to a n*****, death is the only freedom he knows. Death can't be as bad as smiling when you're not happy, sweating when you're not hot and so on and so forth. The reporter then asked him how he felt about comedians such as Jamie Foxx and Chris Rock and mentioned that one of them said that he would be afraid if they wee in the same room as Tyson because they felt that he would be like an unleashed pitbull. Tyson said that it showed that even though they were court jesters, they were conscious of his pain and that his fuse was so short that he might kill them if they said something that was totally disrespectful. He said that they had a ridiculous kinship because a white person might be able to say something to him, but a person that should know how he feels shouldn't try to humiliate him and denigrate him. Tyson discussed a situation in which Lennox Lewis disrespected him in front of his wife. He said that Lewis looked at him disrespectfully, as if he would beat him up. Tyson said that he felt like a shithead because he was trying to be nice to Lennox. If you were to go somewhere and read about Tyson's interview, you would probably read about the inappropriate comments that he made, and discredit any of the legitamate comments that he mad. Tyson may have been right when he said he couldn't beat the media because they have a better hand than him.
