Guest wolverine Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Zach at Puroresupower.com has the results of the New Japan Tokyo Dome show here: http://www.puroresupower.com/upload/news.cgi?news=183 I'm happy to hear that Momoe pinned Toyota, which hopefully means a big push in her future. Guest The Son of Sting Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Misawa/Chono sounds really good.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted May 2, 2002 The whole show sounds pretty good, but I remain sceptical until someone I respect does a proper reviewing of it. I like what they did with Yasuda and Frye, very sensible, cos that match could have been an absolute abortion.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Here's what Dave Meltzer said about the womens match at the Dome: "Momoe Nakanishi & Kaoru Ito b Manami Toyota & Yumiko Hotta (stole the show, even New Japan officials who are prone to not liking womens wrestling were admitting as much)" Wolverine: I don't know if I should be surprised or not, since I figured this would be the show stealer from a moves standpoint, but I thought Hotta would bring it down. I think I'll have to get this show now just for this.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Yeah, that match has recieved a ton of prase from pretty much everyone. While I initially had bad feelings about this show it sounds like the idea to use outsider talent payed off in the end, as the women's match has indeed said to be awesome, and Chono/Misawa provided for a cool spectacle, if nothing else. The only qualm I really have is Rutten going over Nakanishi, which is just so unpractical and counter-productive. The midcard sounds kind of shaky (Nortan, Steiners, why!?) but nothing too offensive. Plus, it sounds like Nagata carried Takayama well, and the junior stuff looks to be really high-grade also. Thank heavens Yusada's reign of terror is over for good, too.
