It's only New Mexico State, but Mike Price's UTEP Miners are blowing them out 45-0.

Northwestern is about to head into the fourth with a 20-17 lead over Ohio State

And in a 1-AA score of interest to me, EWU!~ leads Portland State 41-21 with six minutes left :D

Northwestern intercepts a pass at the goal line. Still up 27-20 with five minutes to go.

Edit: Ohio State ties it up with less than two mintues to go.

Is anyone else just sick and tired of fucking Ohio St.? Seriously, every week these guys have a life and death struggle, often against teams that aren't really particularly good (NW? NC St? Marhsall?). Will someone in the Big 10 like Purdue or Michigan just wax these clowns by 30?

Oh, and being probably the only Louisville fan here I gotta pimp my boys: beat E. Carolina 59-7 today to move to 4-0 and now we get a biggie on Oct. 14 in the ESPN Thursday game vs. MIAMI. I'm not going to predict an upset since it's at the Orange Bowl, but don't be shocked if it's a game. I haven't been too thrilled with Miami from what I've seen against FSU and Houston.

For what it's worth, FSU beat UNC today by 22 and U of L beat UNC last week on the road by 34.

Wow Mike Nugent actually misses a field goal! Northwestern can win with a score.

And touchdown Northwestern and there is the biggest upset of the year to this point. Purdue definently emerges as the favorite in the Big Ten after today.

No boo hoo, Satanico. OSU finally jobs out to someone in a close game as NW gets the TD in OT to win it 33-27.

You know, the Big 10 seems awfully down this year. I think Purdue might win the conf. by default.

Or because Purdue is pretty good. I've been saying to look out for them since our first thread on the 2004 season.

In other news, I've decided to shoot myself before Tennessee goes to Georgia.

From what the season's looked like so far, the leading contenders for the Orange Bowl appear to be:

Big 12- Oklahoma

Big 10- Purdue

Pac 10- USC or Arizona State

ACC- Miami

SEC- Auburn or Georgia

The Big East (West Viginia) is officially out of the hunt because they lost and have too soft a schedule to go in with one loss.

I'm also writing off Texas unless they throw the Red River Shootout curse and actually beat Oklahoma. I'm not counting on it, though.

I wouldn't consider ASU a contender. As good as they've played they aren't going undefeated. I hate to say it but damn Cal impressed me today. To go up to Corvallis and just murder the Beavers like they did was incredible. They have the big game next week at USC.

My prediciton for the Orange Bowl at the moment is USC or Oklahoma vs. Georgia or Auburn. Law of averages say that USC and Oklahoma as the preseason #1 and #2 won't both go undefeated. Also if Georgia or Auburn go undefeated with the strength of the SEC one of them would get in by default.

When OSU is just sitting there with her legs in the air, it's hard to resist.

Actually, I'm a Michigan fan, so that lets you know where I stand...

There's a good chance Auburn and Georgia will play twice. With LSU and Alabama already two SEC losses down, Auburn should cruise past Arkansas and have the SEC West without much trouble.

I'd say they were one of the dark-horse contenders in the pre-season hype factory. People were just a little more chill about it since everyone was crowing about Auburn last year, ranking them in the top 10 preseason, only to have them bust and turn out very middle-of-the-road. They ended up with 5 losses, but they've certainly been on the radar recently.
