Guest KANE Report post Posted May 2, 2002 The word from people who played it is that it's a must-have. I'm short on cash, but if need be, I'll drop $50 for this game if it's really worth it. Anyone here have it? What do you think?
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 2, 2002 Don't know... but after tutoring I'm heading to Target, Wal-Mart.. whatever to get this game. The reviews have been great.. the screens... videos. Too awesome. I had it pre-ordered at PlayCentric.com for $44, but Capcom hasn't shipped them their copies and it'll be awhile before they get it, so I'll drop the $53 for it. After I play it today, I'll do a little review for you.

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 3, 2002 Ohhh... fuck. I'm so mad. I went to SEVEN STORES after tutoring.. none of them had RE! 2 were sold out (Target and a place called Software Etc.) while the other five hadn't even got the game yet. Maybe it's a case of bad shipping on Capcom's part or something.. I don't know. I've been wanting this game for awhile now, and when I does come out... I can't get it. Patience. Fuck patience. >_< Anyhow, I don't know if you've read the Gamespot review, but it's pretty helpful. Gamespot's Resident Evil Review When I DO get the game, I'll do a mini-review. Unless you get it before I do.
Guest KANE Report post Posted May 3, 2002 I'm definitely getting it, but you'll probably end up having it before me--I don't need it distracting me from finals right now. I'll buy it afterwards as a reward for graduating. Yeah, the reviews have heralded it. The way they talk about it, I think it could end up being game of the year! Supposedly this game is genuinely scary, like poop-your-pants scary.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Finally, got it today at Software Etc. w/ a strat guide!! WHOO!! I must say... I suck HORRIBLY at this game. I just blow. But, it's an awesome game, nevertheless. The only other RE game I played was RE2 for N64, so it's very hard for me. The graphics just make you go... O_O. IMHO, has the BEST graphics on a next-gen system so far. I haven't gotten far, since I suck so much... FUCKING ZOMBIES, but when and IF I do get further in this game, I'll try to do a review for you. And, it's scary--the mood, music, lighting, everything.. excellent. Capcom deserves a cookie. Two cookies.

Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I'll just rent it for a week and end it. That way I'll save myself $50.

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 8, 2002 I died 5 minutes in. Can't stop playing... I did, too the first time. The game is hard as hell. If you haven't figured this already... you can run to the Dining Room where Barry is, and he'll killed the zombie for you. So you don't have to get hurt or waste any ammo. Guest Report post Posted May 12, 2002 "I Love This Game!" No I am talking about the NBA, Resident Evil for the gamecube is without shadow of a doubt the BEST game out there for gamecube. My jaw still drops at the incredibly real graphics. Yes I am not very good either so I am not that far cause even on easy the game is f---ing hard. I am at the first boss but I cant get through him!! Yawn keeps poisioning me. Oh well. Only complaint is controll is a little fustrating at times but you get use to it after a while. Better than the ps version, and certainly a must buy if your of age. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted May 12, 2002 Basically, it's a super-upgrade-plus version of the original game. Yeah, the graphics are great, especially the lighting & fg effects. The sound is mildly better, and the voice acting, while still not great, is still markedly better than the original. The mansion & complex have about twice as many rooms, some old, some new. And it's DAMN hard, the most difficult of the series, even on easy mode. Even the lowly zombies become lethal, since it takes a LOT of bullets to put them down, and then if you don't destroy them, they get back up as a super-duper we-are-going-to-eat-you zombie that's as fast and hard to kill as a hunter! Guest Smeghead Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I knew I bought a GameCube for a reason, and this game is that reason! Jesus H. Christ, it rules! Take RE for 1-player, add Smash Bros. for multi-player, and you've got a satisfied Cube owner.
Guest Report post Posted May 15, 2002 With this level of awesomeness coming from RE, Rogue Leader, and Melee, it's looking more and more like Gamecube is Nintendo fans' payback for dealing with kiddie shiat on 64. Even RE2 for 64 had a friggin "gore selection" mode. But looks like things are headed up, so woot. Except for Zelda. ><
