Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted February 11, 2002 Marvin Lewis has agreed to become the Washington Redskins new Defensive Coordinator under Steve Spurrier. The deal is for 3 years at 1 million a year, which is the highest salary ever for an assistant coach. Being a Ravens fan but also somewhat of a Redskins fan, this is actually not a bad thing. The Redskins have a lot of talent on defense and maybe Lewis will be able to mesh that together and maybe just maybe the Redskins defense will be as good if not better than the Ravens defense was this year and last.. Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 11, 2002 I'd say with Offensive minded Power House, Spurrier and Defensive wiz, Lewis, RedSkins are a big contender.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 11, 2002 If I were the Redskins, I'd take a serious look at Bledsoe. His base contract is manageable, then it could be restructured later. The most they would have to give up is probably a 1st + 2nd or 3rd round pick. I think Bledsoe and Spurrier could make a good combination. And a note to Pats fans: If you want a really good piece on the Patriots road to the championship, go to weei.com and download "Road to the Win" Beautiful Day mix. It was aired the day after the Superbowl.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted February 11, 2002 Hmm. Bledsoe with the Redskins is actually a good idea. And Daniel Snyder is just the type of person that would probably pull the trigger on that sort of deal. Bledsoe's not that bad of a QB and hes certainly a huge improvement over Tony Banks. Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 11, 2002 So far it seems that only 4 teams have the money and interest in Bledsoe (Washington, Chicago,Cincy and Dallas)...I'd bank on Synder's fat checkbook.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted February 11, 2002 hmm.. the pieces are starting to come together for Washington. If they can get Bledsoe then wow.. a hell of an off-season for them
Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted February 12, 2002 Whoa, whoa, whoa ... we haven't even gotten to the draft yet - let's not start talking about great offseasons just yet. Bledsoe and the Redskins seem like a good fit, though. There's really not much I can say except maybe if they're going to give up two high picks, to do it during the draft and grab someone younger (i.e. Joey Harrington). The Redskins also have needs at a couple of other spots, too. That first-round pick might be better served on a mammoth defensive tackle and that second-rounder on a WR or offensive guard than on Bledsoe.
