Most Innovative/Unique Moves?

Kanyon's "Russian leg sweep backward roll into a Breakdown"

"Flatliner" is that move's name.  Edge used it as the "Downward Spiral" as well (as noted above), but if I remember correctly, Kanyon's was a lot smoother.

Shane Helms' flying/leaping neckbreaker: Just as a note, it's the only move Nova EVER invented.

Really?  Granted, I didn't see a lot of Nova's matches, but I don't recall him using that in the ones I did see.

You're thinking of two totally different moves there.

One was Kayon's Side Russian Leg Sweep, holds one, rolls over, does a Stroke/Breakdown (didn't see which move it was)

The other is Kanyon's/Edge's Reverse STO, which is the flatliner/downard spiral.

Nova did invent the somersault neckbreaker, the rest of the moves the claimed to have, he ripped off.

Not the somersault neckbreaker ("Buff Blockbuster", correct?).  Helms' is where the opponent is standing, and Helms gets a running start from behind, jumps & executes a "falling" neckbreaker

Also, add to my list:

Burning Hammer

Misawa's "Emerald Frosion" (however it is spelled)

Dace knows what I'm talking about...  ;)

Kanyon used it in the few WWF matches he was in before getting put on the injured list. Really smooth. I wish more guys were as good at making their moves look as good. Hell, I wish Kanyon could be on my TV more than some of the goofs they have now. (And yes, Big Show, I said "gooFs".)

;)

Of course I do... moves is my thing heh ;)

Kayon was/is great.. hope he gets used right, or goes to somewhere he can be when he comes off the injured list.

Just hope he doesn't end up doing a Steiner.

Fireman Carry into a sit out powerbomb by Shocker in his title match against Tarzan Boy in March

Ganso Bomb by Kudo on Combat Toyoda as seen in ICP Strangle Mania and FMW King of Death Match.  And the Ganso Bomb by Nash on Giant.

Spike Dudley as the human lawn dart, when Bam Bam through him into the 3rd row.

I second the Styles Clash as the most unique move.

...Styles Clash...

I think I saw a snippet of one of AJ Styles' matches and I don't recall if he used it. Care to elaborate?

They weren't ganso bombs.. a Ganso Bomb is a jumping kneeling veritcal sheer drop powerbomb from a powerbomb to rana double reversal. Or a Throwing Piledriver.

Styles Clash:

Boston Crab Piledriver

Set as a boston crab, hook opps. legs under your arms, reach back, grab arms, lift up off the floor and pull slightly forward, sit down, driving opp. face first to the mat.

Re: Dace's explanation of the Styles Clash

- That must take an hour to set up!  ;)

Another move I forgot about... Mikey Whipwreck did this thing I can only describe as a butterfly helicopter sitout pedigree in a three-way against Guido Maritato and Simon Diamond. That was f'in amazing!  Too bad the PPV it was on was so unmemorable that it's the only thing I remember... that and the lights going out during that match. (sigh)  ;)

And I was never a fan of the Van Terminator, especially after they hyped it up so much. I mean, yeah, it's a dropkick from one of the ring to the other, but ECW's ring was pretty small. And it's just a dropkick!  Plus the fact the Shane was able to swipe it for WM pretty much demystified it once and for all.

Feh. Maybe it's 'cuz I was just down on RVD when he was a stalling spotmachine.

1. Kenta Kobashi's Orange Crush Throwing Vertical Suplex/Sitout Bomb move.

2. Shinjiri Ohtanis springboard tornado ddt.

3. Torymon's CIMA's Russian Leg Sweep/Scorpion Death Drop

4. Johnny Swingers Swing Thing (Cobra Clutch Russian Leg Sweep)

5. Tajiri's Tarantula

6. Chris Chetti's Amityville Horror (Firemans Carry into a spinnig sitout bomb)

7. Christopher Daniels Angels Wings

8. Elix Skippers Play of The Day

To whomever stated that Helms ripped the Vertebreaker off of Kudo, I'm quite certain I read in an interview that Mike Modest showed Helms the move. I find it more likely that Helms would get it from a fellow indy worker then a Joshi star.

Nope, it's pretty quick really, I've seen other people do it.

Devil Bomb: Dobule Underhook to spinning Double Underhook Canada Backbreaker Rack to Sit out Double Underhook Faec Buster.

Like the Angle Wings with more spin and a extra bit in the middle... more impact to.

6. Chris Chetti's Amityville Horror (Firemans Carry into a spinnig sitout bomb)

Fireman's carry to Sit out slam/MD2

Elix Skippers Play of The Day

If anyone does know what that is, it's a swinging neckbreaker from a Rocker Drop set up.

Didn't Lash Leroux use that as his finisher and call it the Whiplash? I also think Ivory used it a couple of times. Yes, Ivory!

As for Skipper's move, he also called it the Overdrive when he used a different name (I forget... I think it had "Over" in it).

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Bushwhackers' Battering Ram. (no not really)  ;)

Yes and Yes.

Yep as well, the same move of course.

Hey, Dace, need some info...

Ever seen a move that went from a Rock Bottom to an inverted DDT?

It's definitely possible, as I've done it before while fucking around on my cousin's gym mat (she used to take gymnastics), and it just seems like something that has probably been used...

Know what I would love to see? A tornado Diamond Dust. Not one that starts off in the corner, mind you, but starts off like an Acid Drop/Dudley Dawg. Get the opponent in an inverted front headlock, then run up the turnbuckles pads, spin so you're facing the ring, and then leap off and flip into the Ace Crusher.

And, for the record...Whipwreck owns ye all.

Mike Sanders - 3.0.

I've never seen anything like it and I've never seen anyone else do it.

Dames - More than Average

my favorite will probably always be the steiner screwdriver.  does anybody know if scott invented that move, & who else does it?

also...this is REALLY fuzzy, but i seem to remember that when scott did the frankensteiner, he would land on his feet, standing up, instead of just on his ass.  i could be very wrong about this, cause i haven't seen him do it since i was 8, but can anybody confirm it?

Rock Bottom to an inverted DDT

Never seem that one, but I've heard of a realse Uranage to inverted DDT I think... I will ask some freinds with rather larger puro collections than me.

A tornado Diamond Dust. Not one that starts off in the corner

That would be a swinging Diamond Duster as you know.

I don't know if you could do it though, running backwards while bent over backwards... I dunno. But if you mean starting like Matt Hardy's inverted bull dog, then I think it could be done.

Just for Non Pruo fans a note:

Tornado = run up the turnbuckles (while holding opp) into the move. Acid Driop =Tornado Ace Crusher.

Tornado DDTs are sometimes misscalled as swinging DDTs in the states.

Swinging = Hold opp, swing round with opp. and exectue the move. Swinging DDT = what's commoanlly misscalled as a Tornado DDT in the states.

Blame Styles for that one, just like the "Tiger Bomb"

my favorite will probably always be the steiner screwdriver.  does anybody know if scott invented that move, & who else does it?

Dunno, be he broke it out again at his last show in Japan.

At the WWA ppv before Eruption, during the 6-man CW match, either Low Ki or Chris Daniels attempted a top rope rana on AJ Styles and he held on and turned it into a top rope Styles Clash. It was great. Tajiri's Tarantula of course. I like the handspring elbow(does anyone else do this regularly?). Angle's run-up super belly to belly overhead. That sick looking flip RVD did from the ring into the crowd. I don't remember when it's from. That move D'Lo did to Eddie during his match on Heat. It was like a powerslam into an inverted bulldog takedown. At WWA Eruption, Styles did either a corkscrew shooting star or a corkscrew senton(can't remember which), but it was amazing. I like the hand-stand rana Trish does. Molly's 360 whoopee cushion is cool. And nothing in specific, but I think Tiger Mask IV is incredibly smooth in all of his high spots. Lots of other favs, most have been mentioned.

Bodyslam to Bronx Bomb (Sit Down Rock Bottom)

It was a  soft Half Nelson Suplex. Union Jack is a former Gimmick name for his Half Goku Raku Neckbreaker (Grabs opps. arm from infront, pulls it across their neck, is behind them, grabs head with free arm like a neckbreaker, exectues the move.)

Skipper was released.  I don't know why, he was very talented, and could talk.  He'd be great in the new cruiser division.

Actually, I think I saw he was going to be in the NWA.  Can anybody else confirm that?
