Guest mathbrat Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Unfortunately it doesn't really matter if Hogan is trying or not, his title reign is going badly and he shouldn't even be in these matches to begin with. I can guarantee NO ONE (except maybe Taker Mark) wants to see Taker vs. Hogan... if Jericho, HHH, and The Rock can only get **** combined out of him in their matches, then this next one is going to be miserable. And Real American won't make things any better either.
Guest Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I can guarantee NO ONE (except maybe Taker Mark) wants to see Taker vs. Hogan... Truth be told, not even *I* want to see Hulk Hogan in the Main Event at Judgement Day, even if it is against the Undertaker. Lets hope to GOD that they stick Trippers & Jericho in there, and hope even more that Jericho wins back the title. BUT if they insist on going ahead with Taker-Hogan, i wouldn't expect it to be very long...nor will it be any good...Hogan tends to just make EVERYTHING, including the company, look REALLY bad... This has been the Oriental Taker Mark
Guest Report post Posted May 6, 2002 >>>I concur. I've heard this as well. I don't know if it's true, but I've read it, I just don't know where. I know Flair and Austin worked together on several occassions and that Flair was a fan of Austin's work<<< It's a smark's dream story. I believe it was over-exaggerated to put over Flair and Austin and bury Hogan. I've heard other stories that directly contradict this one by saying that Flair really didn't care for Austin and that he wasn't grooming him at all.
Guest Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I guess it depends on who you read. I'm pretty sure I read about Flair liking Austin at the Observer
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I would rather see Jericho get a rematch against Hogan, but Jericho has credibility issues.
Guest Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I would rather see Jericho get a rematch against Hogan, but Jericho has credibility issues. Yes, Jericho does have credibility issues. BUT, put him over on Hogan and he'll at least have something back. No outside involvement from others, no involvement from Rock, Triple H, Vince McMahon...no pinfall where a chair-shot directly leads to it...Nothing where the wrestling community can say the win was hugely tainted. Just a few dirty tricks through-out the match, and have Jericho get the pin. It's only befitting for Hogan to job to Jericho, instead of someone like Austin, who's probably looking at retirement in a few years anyway. And imagine the heat Jericho will get when he says that he's the one who retired Hogan...there goes Jericho's credibility problems. Only problem is if the WWF actually keeps Hogan away... About the Voodoo Child/Real American debate, I think he should just keep the Hendrix. It gives him an edge. Take it away and you're right back to the late 80s/early 90s to the point, further emphasizing that WWF is very desperate that this nostalgia trip succeeds, which will cause even more problems than they have now. For the fans and the pops that Hogan will recieve if he goes full-Hulk, he'll lose just as much if the WWF gets rid of that edge...IMO.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I would really like to see what Benoit can do with Hogan when he returns if the right build and heat is produced for the match. They could definetly play on his misuse in WCW because of guys like Hogan (since they totally missed on that w/ Jericho) I just wonder what they could do in the ring together. As far as Austin/Hogan, I think it will only be teased but never taken out until WM, where Hogan will lose and retire. Hogan will feud w/ UT, HHH, Jericho for a little while while Austin finishes up w/ Big Show and the nWo. As much as I hate it, I see the nWo and Hogan feuding for a little while since his whole leaving never really was blown off. Austin will then feud w/ Benoit, etc. There are just plenty of angles that will be used befroe the big Hogan/Austin match, IMO. We may not like them, but that's what we'll get (Taker/Hogan)
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I would really like to see what Benoit can do with Hogan when he returns if the right build and heat is produced for the match. Uhm. Isn't there legitimate backstage heat with these two? I remembered hearing about an interview with Benoit at MuchMusic Canada where Chris said he wasn't looking forward to the nWo because those were the guys he went to the WWF to escape. Talk about shoot comments that aren't supposed to be shoot comments....
