That's stretching it. He could have quietly funded research groups and withdrawn to his home until he died. Instead, he became an advocate for the cause and brought attention to the issues around it.

 

Personally, I just don't think anyone likes to acknowledge anything good anymore. It's kind of sad.

Well, if he privately funded it by himself, I'm sure they wouldn't have gotten half of the money as they did after he started his own damned foundation for it. Because, y'know, people donate to foundations...

Reeve was following a natural human instinct; to help both himself and those in a similar position. I know that many people, including myself, donate more to cancer charities having lost someone to that disease. There's nothing "asshole" about it.

 

Or am I just taking this Maddox guy too seriously?

I will go ahead and set up funds for every potential charity out there, so that way If i suffer such a injury or contract a disease of some sort, I've my bases covered from the wrath of this asshole.
