Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 So who are the top contenders for the Heisman now that Purdue has lost? Bush and Peterson?
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Well the real Josh Swogger has stood up, after throwing two INTs in September he's thrown three in each game in October. Christ, the Apple Cup is gonna be 2-8 UW vs 4-6 Wazzu at this rate, so if the Cougs choke again I don't care................ The bad news of course is EWU's shot at the Big Sky title (and the playoffs) went out with a whimper disguised as a blocked FG in a 31-28 loss to Montana, a game that would have overtaken WSU vs USC '02 as the best game I've ever been to if Paul Wulff hadn't played not to lose once the Eagles got to the 3 with 1:00 left. Ah how often when you play not to lose do you actually NOT?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Virginia got clobbered, moreso than I had expected. The Noles played the best game they've played in 2 years, I think. Complete shutdown. What I'm more worried about are the seeming injuries to both Marques Hagans and Elton Brown. With them, my 9-2 preseason pick still seems about right. Without, yikes. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 I think Swogger's leg has to be bothering him or something. His accuracy's so bad that he doesn't even look like a I-A quarterback sometimes.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 So what happens to the Top 25 now? 1)USC 2)OU 3)Miami 4)Auburn 5-25)????? So I guess either Oklahoma State was a fluke, overrated or Texas A&M is A LOT better than everyone thought they were. Which makes Utah look that much more impressive. That damn Big XII South is running wild all over the North's ass though and it's getting sad. I mean the team getting into the Big XII title game will probably be 5-3 in conference play. Not good. Meanwhile the South winner will either be OU at 8-0, or A&M at 7-1(if they knock off OU and Texas), or OU at 7-1(if they have a freak accident at OSU) The disparity is huge. Is it always this big? Well there was talk of starting Brink tonight.......... Which now that a fourth straight bowl's definitely out getting the QB situation squared away and an early headstart for '05 is probably a good idea.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 So what happens to the Top 25 now? 1)USC 2)OU 3)Miami 4)Auburn 5-25)???? After creaming #6, FSU should take the #5 spot quite handily. Wisconsin gets into the top 10 for sure, Texas slides up, Michigan creeps a little closer, and UVA and Purdue both drop, the latter probably to the edges of the top 10 and the former somewhere in the top 15. Oklahoma State is probably out of the poll or just on the edge, Ohio State is surely gone, and a few uncertain teams beginning to distinguish themselves (like Texas A&M and NC State) start to slide into the mix. Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 17, 2004 I am shocked at how inept my Gamecocks are offensively. That was the single ugliest performance I've ever seen. -=Mike
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Never fear though, it was against the truly hapless UK. I'm telling you, Kentucky right now...1-10 this year. Any arguments? They have Auburn next week, and that'll be a squash. There's no way Miami should be ahead of Auburn at this point. They probably will be due to rep alone. Just wondering, but where will Louisville go in the polls? It would be SO unfair if they dropped after that effort against Miami. Do you realize that it's likely U of L will play Utah in the Liberty Bowl to determine the "King of those fucked by the BCS?"

Oh, if we play this week (against Tennessee) the way we played against Kentucky, it'd be the ugliest blowout in history. Louisville will likely stay in the lowest part of the top 25 --- but they are dead in terms of a really good bowl. -=Mike
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Well Ok State stays in the Top 25. A&M moves up. Texas is Top 10 again. OU stays the same. Texas Tech creeps in on one poll. The South is all over the North's candy ass.
