Guest Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 Just curious... when the original Nature Boy, Buddy Rogers died, did the WWF give him some sort of tribute? Afterall, he was the first WWF champion
Guest Steve J. Rogers Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 I would say no as when the Orginal Nature Boy died: 1) The WWF back then was 100% against even mentioning their own past in passing on TV 2) It must have been quite a while since Buddy was associated with the WWF (actually did he stay on much longer after losing to Bruno?) and was pretty much an independant performer at the time of his passing and 3) Both Adrian Adonis and Dino Bravo were under WWF contracts when they died and I didn't hear ANYTHING about it, well untill flipping through a 1994 Roddy Piper article in a WWF magazine where his match against the late Adrian Adonis was mentioned. On the flip side though, I swear I saw footage of Haystacks Calhoun on WWF televison with an announcement that he had passed so who knows Steve
Guest notJames Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 They probably didn't mention Bravo due to the nature of his death (supposed organized crime hit). I think Adonis was killed in a car accident. Don't know why they wouldn't acknowledge it.

As far as I remember, Adrian Adonis had left the WWF after losing a match to Brutus Beefcake (where his head was shaved) and was working the Indies when he was killed...
Guest Tony149 Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 They may have mentioned it. Rogers was one of the first men in the WWF Hall of Fame. It's inside a WWF Magazine. McMahon also mention how Rogers was the first WWWF or WWF Champion (Can't remember what he said) at a PPV in 1997 (Revenge of the Taker: IYH?)
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 No, Adonis was in the WWF when the accident happened. I remember hearing that the Bulldog was also in the car.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted May 3, 2002 Report Posted May 3, 2002 No adonis was working the canadian indies.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted May 4, 2002 Report Posted May 4, 2002 Niether Adonis or Bravo were under contract when they died. Adonis left in summer-fall 1987, and Bravo retired from Wrestling sometime in 1992. The Bulldog car crash was a yr. exactly after Adonis', which included Chris Benoit and Jason The Terrible(?).
