Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2004 I'm going to the KU game. Good easy game this week....can sit back and relax. Though the guys on the field better not.
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 21, 2004 Let's don't forget the highly contested battle for 7th in the Pac 10 between WSU and OSU And in 1-AA, EWU tries to keep its' faint playoff hopes alive at Weber State And since I mentioned the two WSUs, Mike Price's 4-2 UTEP Miners head to La Tech in a game that sorta could be for first place in the WAC if Fresno pulls the upset of Boise. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 21, 2004 Y'know, I almost picked that...that's never a good sign..
Bored 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 West Virginia beats Syracuse 27-6. What do you mean you weren't watching?
phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 The one time I'm home to watch college football...and Game 7 of the NLCS is on. An article in the LA Times was mentioning the possible horror of having Syracuse, Rutgers or UConn in a BCS game...apparently they don't pay much attention to West Virginia. They should wrap up the Big East, and they will be a formidable opponent in a BCS bowl, probably the only Big East team that will be.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 22, 2004 I think they'll end up getting stomped by Georgia.
yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2004 And in 1-AA, EWU tries to keep its' faint playoff hopes alive at Weber State You're an EWU fan? I graduated from Nicholls state (The team EWU played in week 1) and I go to all the home games and usually will take a road trip to a close away game (no more than a 6 hour drive). Nicholls beat #9 Northwestern State last night 40-14. We also beat EWU, who is ranked. We're 4-3 right now, so if we manage to take conference, we'll see you guys in the playoffs Best of luck to you
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 22, 2004 Wait a min, Nicholls State (unranked) beat a TOP TEN team? Wow if you read Iggy lecturing me (EWU was lucky to hang around Montana), said feat is IMPOSSIBLE And yes I am a student at EWU
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 First of all, I admitted I was messing with you. With the way the Cougs are playing, it's nice to have a team I can talk shit with. Second, flavor of the week, lucky to be ranked, hoping to make the playoffs Northwestern State is just a little different than defending five-time Big Sky Champion Montana who has two national championships in the last ten years, and hasn't missed the playoffs since 1993. EWU collapsing against UM (Montana) is more like Lousiville collapsing against UM (Miami). It's the team with the pedigree coming up big when it counts. Nicholls beating Northwestern is more like when West Virginia was supposed to be top ten and they lost to Virginia Tech.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Has anyone been watching this Wisconsin/Northwestern game. The whole time, they keep acting like when Erasmus James got injured, it was a premeditated assault or something. It was a good block! He was starting to get away, so Purdue's tackle fired out and took out his legs. That's a perfectly legal technique, and a perfectly legal block. I mean what, is he supposed to just let Erasmus James make the tackle because he might get hurt if someone blocks him? Football's a contact sport. If you're gonna bitch when someone hits you, you should either grow some balls or find a new sport.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 What's up with Florida today? Losing to a pathetic Miss. St. team 17-7. How the mighty have fallen.
Bored 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Quite the thriller on ESPN2, Iowa leads Penn State 6-2 in the 4th. Does Iowa have a good bullpen?
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Hey Iggy don't worry, Eastern will end with losses to either/or/and Cal-Poly/Montana St anyway and won't have to worry about the playoffs. Which I'm sorta worried that the Cougs will tire of 'the old goat' during my next three years here and think Wulff'd be 'the perfect fit' like he's Jim Tressel or something despite the fact that the Eags have been 6-5 in all his five years
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 23, 2004 2-run homer for Penn St, 6-4 JoePatorre might just pull this off yet..................
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 23, 2004 And there it is, your final score of the day so far. Iowa 6 Penn St
Bored 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 I think JoePa wanted to conjure up memories of the days before the forward pass today. Almost had a similar score with Maryland/Clemson but Clemson scores a touchdwon with 23 seconds left to go up 10-7. Wow has Maryland been a huge dissapointment this year. Mississippi State scored with nine minutes to go to take a 31-24 lead on Florida. Ron Zook might get fired today. Mississippi State lost to Maine earlier this year. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Justin Miller picks off Joel Statham, and Clemson wins 10-7. Both teams are now 3-4. This is ridiculous. Maryland comes to Virginia in two weeks. Since Clemson and Maryland, both preseason top-20 teams, have fallen apart, we're probably going to be playing Miami with a record of 7-1. And we're going to have played one team with a winning record. Absurd!

Nice of the refs to give Clemson a second ACC win through a rather generous pass interference call (the MD DB didn't do anything to warrant it). Quite the thriller on ESPN2, Iowa leads Penn State 6-2 in the 4th. Does Iowa have a good bullpen? Lord, that was the worst game I've seen in a long while. Even worse than last week's USC v Kentucky debacle. -=Mike ...But I picked IA, so I can deal...
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 23, 2004 MSU driving in Fla territory late, tied 31-31. UGA CAN'T lose to these guys again if they wanna be taken seriously
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 MSU touchdown on a 37-yard run! Unreal! If Florida can't score a touchdown in the last 30 seconds, this is without question the biggest upset of the year.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 23, 2004 MSU touchdown! If Florida can't score a touchdown in the last 30 seconds, this is without question the biggest upset of the year. Jesus, what the hell happened? Didn't MSU lose to Maine or somebody this year? -=Mike
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 And they did it! Unbelievable! Zook is officially toast, and the Gators are in bad shape. With three SEC losses and Georgia up next week, they'll be incredibly lucky to even get back to the Outback Bowl this year.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 23, 2004 And they did it! Unbelievable! Zook is officially toast. Yeah. Gonna be hard to Zook to survive when losing to an incredibly terrible MSU team. -=Mike
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Just got back from the OU/KU game. *yawn* Same old, same old. OU plays like they don't care in the first half. Comes out and beats ass in the second half. Adrian Peterson goes over 100 again and now has over1000 on the season. Jason White throws for nearly 400 yards. 41-10 Sooners. *yawn*
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Yeah I know, sucks when your team doesn't win by 100. So they're not the Switzer-era 'Hang a half a hundred on em (Kansas) by halftime and let's go home', so what?
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 I'm not complaining. I'm saying it's getting boring. I liked the KSU game b/c it was so close. Hopefully OSU and A&M provide us something worth watching. I'm tired of them playing like crap in the first half b/c they don't give a damn then at the half being like "Oh guess we'd better do something!" Adrian Peterson has gone over 100 in every game he's played in. Yay.
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Wait, what's this 'KSU was so close it was cool' crap? I'm not interested in bumping the thread but I could point to every time where clearly the OPPOSITE was going on 'It sucks being a fan sometimes'--OU up 24-21 or somewhere thereabouts. And you wonder why the GreatOnes of the world make you out to be the AngleSault of the cfb thread.....................
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 I was pointing out in the thread that it was a good test and we needed it. But I don't want every game to be close b/c then the pollsters will be like "Well they suck. Time to drop them!"
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2004 Must distract from petty bickering. Uh, how about those Cougars! Only down by 21 in the second quarter. Yeah!
