Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted May 5, 2002 It's funny you should mention lack of long title reigns and then the staleness of the tag division so close together, considering the main reason the titles are so stale is because Chuckabilly have seemingly had them forever. It is stale because of no credible challengers, and Billy & Chuck's poor ring work.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 5, 2002 The Contender title would be the equivalent of the IC title. The name Contender is because it would be grooming stars to eventually become Undisputed title contenders. There would be no Cruiser title because I'd like the playing field to be even. It would be also more even because steriod users would be fired.
Guest Report post Posted May 5, 2002 1. Make Smackdown Live. I always cant help but read the spoilers. 2. Drop the F'n Stacy Vince angle. 3. Have Hogan Drop the title ASAP 4. Longer Title Rains excluding hogans. 5. A top dominant Heel. (Someone said it best that the Face should look like a Underdog) 6. Fueds shouldn't be over Shampoo and Hair 7. Trade Angle To Raw to much talent on one roster isn't a good thing because they become underused plus this would help Raw instead of having to push F'n Bradshaw. 8. Get steph of booking appparently she was the one behind the Bradshaw push and to think i actually liked her. 9. New Tag Teams dont just put teams together for one night EG. Rikishi and Helms have Billy and Chuck drop the titles. 10. Although on Raw Dont have the IC title as the first match it degrades the title. PS. I dont only Fear hogans Air guitair i also fear his title Rain.
Guest mathbrat Report post Posted May 5, 2002 1. Make legit tag teams, give them reasons to team up, THEN send them after Chuckabilly. 2. Send Rico back to OVW, wait six months, then bring him back as a wrestler; maybe the damage being done to his career right will have healed by then. 3. Pay Kurt Angle $1000000 not to try out for the Olympics. 4. Bring the Rock back to job to Angle or Jericho clean, then cut him loose for Hollywood (I like him, but have to figure his performance will drop once he's a full time actor). and two things that won't happen. 1. You can't eliminate house shows, as they are a huge source of revenue for the WWF (WWE?). 2. It would be extremely expensive to run Smackdown live.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 5, 2002 The WWE does not need house shows. Vince is rich and he has four wrestling shows and one recap show. Not having the extra money from house shows would get their asses in gear to put on good tv shows. Also, the wrestlers are getting injured too much because they are having to work too much. They DESERVE it. Not having house shows would REALLY help them.
Guest mathbrat Report post Posted May 5, 2002 I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter how many TV shows the WWF has, its primary sources of revenue are merchandise, PPV buys, and live attendance. Two of those three things would go down drastically without house shows. Seriously, haven't you read the dozen or so rants by Scott Keith on how you don't make MONEY with television ratings. That kind of reasoning is what killed Russo and WCW. P.S. I only bring up Keith because he has elaborated on this subject in the past. P.P.S. Yes, I do know about advertising revenues, but those are not significant enough to cover for the potential losses you suggest.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Mathbrat has it right. House Shows are far too important to eliminate.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 6, 2002 Well, then they should only do half of the house shows they do every year. They also shouldn't have title matches at house shows.
Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted May 6, 2002 Well, then they should only do half of the house shows they do every year. They also shouldn't have title matches at house shows. >>> Disagree. House shows allow the guys to figure out what stuff works so that they can, hopefully, incorporate it into their normal routine. Eliminating house shows will guarantee that we'll not see ANYTHING different out of ANYBODY as not many guys would be willing to try something totally new in front of a national audience. After all, can anybody imagine how much having no house shows HURT WCW over its last few months? All of their young guys ended up working only one night a week (since Nitro and Thunder were taped at the same time) and, thus, they didn't have a chance to really develop into solid performers. If you WANT younger wrestlers, you need to let them work or else they'll never improve to where they need to be. But, let's hit my quick fixes: 1. Vince off of TV. His character has become tired and the fans don't really hate him anymore. They're BORED by him, which is the worst possible reaction. 2. Have a SMALL circle of writers---and make them different for the shows. Let Raven, Dreamer, Flair, and Anderson handle RAW. Let Vince, Hunter (whose ideas aren't ALL bad, folks), Faarooq (who I think could be decent in this role), and Snow handle SD. 3. Get the strap off of Hogan. The most consistently over heel in the WWF is still Kurt Angle. Let HIM run with the belt for a while until you decide what you want to do next (another Austin v Angle feud WOULD be nifty). If you want Hogan to have one last match with Austin, do so---but his usefulness is gone. 4. Do away with DQ/countout/no-contest finishes. They are crutches for weak booking and fans don't like them. Clean wins build up performers. 5. Keep the Hardcore Title a comedy title. Hardcore wrestling wasn't good when it was "new" and "innovative". Now, it's just plain bad and making it a joke is the only way to make it acceptable. 6. Dump Lawler, Cole, and Tazz. Since they obviously don't want to use Heyman as a commentator presently, use any of the following: Sanders, Kevin Kelly, Malenko, or Dreamer (just to keep his broken-down BUTT out of the ring) 7. Release Hogan, Hall, and Nash. Don't sign Goldberg. Don't sign Steiner. When you're not doing well, signing guys who didn't draw for your competition isn't the smartest move. If you want new guys to spice up the action---well, your developmental leagues aren't exactly LACKING talent. 8. 6 matches per show as a steadfast rule. Main events last at least 10 minutes. The others go at least 5 (unless the match needs to be shorter for booking reasons---if that is the case, make the other non-main event matches slightly longer). Guarantee the fans at least 40 minutes of in-ring action per show. It also gives the talent a chance to actually WORK matches which might---just might---improve ratings. Please note that in 2000, matches were longer in the WWF and, lo and behold, the fed was doing MUCH better. 9. Keep the out-of-the-ring segments on SD to a BARE minimum. The SD roster is the most talented roster of in-ring talent out there. Let them do what they do best---especially since a lot of them are less than stellar out of the ring. -=Mike
