Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2002 There's something mentioned on Wrestlecrap.com about Wnedi Richter being screwed over by Vince in an incident less famous than the "Montreal" incident. My question is what happened?
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I have heard that she wasn't supposed to be pinned by Moolah and Vince told the Ref to count to three. If I've got my head on straight then Moolah was in a mask as the spider in the match. There is also a rumour that Richter was one of the Women Vince was having an affair with as admitted in his Playboy Interview.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I belive Richter wanted more money than Vince was willing to give and she supposedly started getting a big head. So Vince "screwed" her (no pun intended) during the match. She knew Moolah was under the mask. She just didn't know she was going to lose the title.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I believe Moolah was called Spider Lady for that match.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I would imagine Moolah in a mask would fool as many people as Dusty Rhodes as the Midnight Cowboy.
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Richter didnt want to job the to the Moolah, so Vince had her lose to Spider Lady, and fast counted her shoulders. After the match Moolah revealed herself and that was the last of Richter in the WWF.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted May 9, 2002 Yeah, Wendi's contract was up for review or something, and there was a dispute with Vince over money. So, she was screwed out of the title by Vince and Spider Lady, and supposedly, she was so upset that she ran out of the Garden in her ring attire.
Guest DrainYou42 Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Here's the story straight from RD: Wendi Richter was one of the biggest stars of the mid 80's wrestling boom. Hogan got all the credit, but the Wendi-Cyndi Lauper pairing generated a ton of mainstream media interest, too. Having said all that, she was either looking to renegotiate her contract or something. Her contract was up, and she was still woman's champ. Right before she was going out for a title defense against Spider Lady (Moolah under a hood), WWF officials asked her to sign a new contract. She said she wanted her attorney to take a look at it. They came back and told her to sign the contract NOW. She said no, but that she would send it to her attorney and sign after that if everything was ok. She then went out to the ring. During the match, Moolah got her in a pinning predicament, and the ref counted three, even though Richter kicked out before two and was practically standing up at three. They gave the belt to Moolah, and Richter was never again seen in a WWF ring.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Goddamn, Vince was still an evil motherfuck back in the old days wasn't he?
Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted May 16, 2002 Well, let's be honest, Vince has never had a female "star" who didn't suddenly become a major head case. Richter was just the first. -=Mike
