Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2002 What do you guys think the best Superhero movie is? For me, it's a close call between Spider-man and Batman. Spider-man has ALWAYS been my fav. superhero, but the Batman movie kicked ass too.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 1. Spider-Man 2. Batman (w/Jack Nicholson) 3. Batman (1966) 4. Batman (w/Jim Carrey) I don't really remember the second Batman or Dick Tracy, and I never saw the last Batman movie. I always hated the Superman movies also. Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I'm a big fan of the crow, but I don't really consider it a superhero movie.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Well i haven't seen Spiderman yet so i won't judge it now. I also don't consider Crow a "super hero". If i did i'd pick it as the best. However as far as super heroes go i'd say Batman(Tim Burton) and Superman are the best ones. They were the best comic book to movie adaptions and had great performances so they should be at the top. Once again i haven't seen Spiderman so I can't compare it to them.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I'd consider The Crow a superhero movie, since Draven is kind of, you know...a hero. And he can't die unless you kill the bird... Apparently, nobody's ever read the re-working of the tale by Image...it was an ongoing series a year or 2 ago, might still be...
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted May 4, 2002 1) BAtman 2) Superman 1 3) X Men (if you watch the DVD with the deleted scenes reinserted) 4) Superman 2 5) Batman: Mask of the Phantasm i haven't seen Spiderman yet.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted May 4, 2002 The Crow was done pretty much in the style of a comic book superhero movie, it just wasn't a comic book first. so my favorites are Spawn, the Crow, and that's pretty much it. If they made a movie about the Bane breaking Batman's back, I pretty much Guarantee you that'd be my favorite. To me, that was always the best part in the whole batman universe thing
Guest Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Draven was a hero, but there was no super-villian. There was a villian, but he wasn't even close to be as powerful as Draven was.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 4, 2002 have not seen Spiderman yet so here are my favorite movies based on comic books 1) Conan the Barbarain 2) Batman - Tim Burtan movie(s) 3) Blade 4) Crow 5) Storm Riders 6) X Men 7) MIB waiting patiently for Ang Lee's version of Incredible Hulk, and scared of Ben Aflack as Daredevil
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 From Ravenbomb The Crow was done pretty much in the style of a comic book superhero movie, it just wasn't a comic book first. Which would explain why the movie was made in 1994, and the first Crow comic was made in 1989... Who says superheroes need supervillains with powers? I'd consider The Punisher to be a superhero, but does his supervillains have powers? No. And very rarely does Batman's supervillains have POWERS instead of ABILITIES (TwoFace didn't have any power, he just had schizophrenia).
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think of the original "Camp Classic" Batman from 1966? Personally, I love the movie and the TV show. I try to watch it everynight on TV Land.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I try to forget it ever existed. It depicted a comic book that was trying its best to maintain credibility at that point in time as nothing but cartoon buffoonery.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think of the original "Camp Classic" Batman from 1966? Personally, I love the movie and the TV show. I try to watch it everynight on TV Land. I haven't seen all of it yet, but from what I saw of it on AMC... I love it! I had to leave after the bat-shark-repellant, but that had me in stitches the rest of the night. But then again, I was in stitches after that LL 0rti poster, maybe I just think cheesy shark stuff is funny As for best super-hero movie, I haven't seen Spider Man (trying to score tix to an IMAX showing... at least then if it sucks I could still be awed by it being in IMAX!!!), but I'm not really a big fan of super hero films in general, so I'm gonna pull a complete 180 and say Unbreakable, the anti-superhero superhero movie. Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted May 4, 2002 My picks for best superhero movie(s) would be: Batman (1966 version) Batman Batman Returns Spider-Man Superman Superman II X-Men Blade Blade II I noticed at least one person denounced the 1966 Batman film, but how many people realize that the show was a perfect mirror for the tone of the comics at that time? If you read any Batman comics from that era, you'll see that they were extemely campy. It's not my favorite depiction of the Dark Knight by any means, but I can still appreciate it. Anyway, that's just my 2¢ on the subject.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted May 5, 2002 CRD, I denounced it. Hey, I'm all for campy movies (why else would I be a Troma fan?), but...bleh. I've also never really been a fan of Batman in general, I like the more graphic books, so...
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Speaking of campy movies, I watched the Abominable Dr. Phibes last night and I HATED it. I practically slept through it. It's funny because I have heard so many people praise the parts of the film that I hated. No explanation for Phibes' killing spree is given until halfway through. His female sidekick is never explained and she looks like his wife. The only action in the movie is the kill scenes, no near-death experiences. The police fail miserably at being "Stupid Funny", they were just stupid. That is all...anyone else have anything to add?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 5, 2002 I for one am a Abominable Dr. Phibes fan and of it's sequel. However as a Vincent Price fan i probably just liked it for his performance. If he wasn't in it i may not have been fan. I'm sure many fans of the movie like it because of Vincent Price. It's a case of a performance making a movie better then it may have been without the performance.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Ok FIIIIINE! So I didn't know there was a Crow comic book out in 1989! I might have seen it, but I was THREE at the time, and was only Seven when the movie came out, so I was a little preocupied with with my drugs and Asian porn! But I degress. I did make a horrible horribe (oops, theres another one! ) mistake, so here, I'll stick my arm out and you can cut my wrist and bleed me to death, then stick my corpes out to be raped by Paul Reiser and whoever the hell the other guy was in My 2 Dads, while my Kindegarden teacher takes pictures, soon to be available on KaZaA! I'm also a Vincent Price fan, maybe I should give movie another chance. Next time I'll try to watch it beofre 12AM. Anyway, is the sequel similar to the first movie, or is it very different? Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Oh you are a Vincent Price fan? Well i'm surprised you didn't like it just for his performance. Maybe you just watched it under bad circumstances that limited your enjoyment. Yeah the sequel is similar. Since you're a Price fan i'd say you should give the movie another chance. He carried most of his movies and this one isn't much different.

Guest Report post Posted May 5, 2002 I wouldn't call Conan or the Men in Black "superheroes". Not every character from a comic book is a superhero. As for my favourite superhero movie: Superman II.
