Guest realitycheck Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Well, practially no-one replied at the bottom of it, so I'm spamming up the boards. (Y) I'm curious. Did anyone actually read all of the stuff I dug up for the all-stars thread? Did you like it? Should I do another one? (If yes, I'll make a note not to post an ENTIRE show again) If so, any suggestions? -Z
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Yessir! It's always fun to see classic stuff dug up, and it helps give some of the new guys a sense of our crazy and long history, too. I vote for a second edition. BWa ha ha!
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted May 5, 2002 CHRIS LIKE! Ooh, another request! Dig up King's promo, sometime after FtF but before Crossfire. I think it's called "All fun and games?" That thread has the stats template for CAVEMAN CHRIS! Screw the promo, I want the stats!
Guest realitycheck Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Okay, so Edwin and Raynor are the only ones to tell me to do a second, but dammit, that's good enough! I figure instead of just randomly picking out Promos and matches, I should do it with some semblance of order. So, the next one will be done with either a compilation of stuff from a stable, or a individual retiree. Rock the vote! ...or something. THE STABLES: I've narrowed it down to... The Midnight Carnival (Duh. Anyway, they've done "Operation POONFAR," "Carnies in Toyland," and various ML excursions. Along with a Stables Title match.) Prime Evil (Most of the best PE promos come from the OLLLD skool JL, but there are a few newer things stuffed in here and there. I have the triple cage ST match around here somewhere...) IGNWO (Pre or Post getting the official name. Wilson had quite a few good promos, and I could scrounge around for some matches.) The Phoenix Uprising (From Mayor McCheese's 'Adventures in Hambugerland' to the addition of Comet and Axis, there are quite a few good promos here. I could dig up a stables title match, too.) INDIVIDUAL RETIREE'S: Divefire (Fantastic match writer, and a long line of great promos. Consiterably more 'serious' of a promo writer.) Cyclone Comet (Legend. Superhero. Do I even need to say any more?) Stubby P. McWeed (One of the IGNWF's best ever match writers. I'd need to be steered to any of his good promos though.) Mark Stevens (I don't really need to tell you who Mark is, do I? Fresh off of retirement, his high calibre matches and less 'antic-y' carney promos are probably still well remembered. But I'm sure nobody would mind if I dug up some embarrasing JL stuff, would they ) Okay, so pick one, and only one. If you pick a Stable, I'll swtich off and do a retiree for the next set of stuff. If you don't vote, then I'll pick someone myself. 'The legendary matches and promos of Ted Flink' anyone? -Z Who kind of wishes polls hadn't been de-activated. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 5, 2002 YEEEEEEEES!!! Get them! Ohhh, get them! Our crowning achievement as humans!!! A simple joke became a great legacy, and now an official part of Raynor's moveset. What else can you get...hmm. Well, it might be hard to get and put together, but if you could find the all-show Ironman match between Xstasy and Trash for the European Title...I'm not sure exactly where that show is, but I think it should be in either late March or early April of 2001. Edit: Well, my shameless vote is going with the Carnival, just because I REALLY WANT THE CAVEMAN CHRIS STATS! EE HEE HEE! And maybe the Stairway to Panda match...heh. I keep all my matches and promos, Z, so if you can't find something if you're ever looking for Carnie things, I might have it.
Guest realitycheck Report post Posted May 5, 2002 Oh, and Chris, If the carney's get picked, I'll unearth and throw up the Caveman Chris stats. Otherwise, I'll be demonic little munchkin and make you wait. MUA' HAHAHAHA! (psst... I'll PM them to you if you reall want them.) Also, maybe at the end of the month, I'll throw up an old WF PPV for your enjoyment. If it has a Wrestlecentre roundtable, I'll unearth that too. EDIT: I probably should of put an 'ALL JL SPECIAL' up there, too. 2nd EDIT: I'm just going to add that you've got until Monday night to give your vote for the Carnival for whoever you want. Thank you, and I'm not butchering this post anymore. -Z Who dosn't know why he asked anyone to vote, seeing as it'll just be a landslide Carniaval victory anyway. Guest Longdogger_Pete Report post Posted May 5, 2002 I want to see the Munich/D-Devil bar room brawl. Was D-Devil really Ted Flink?
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted May 5, 2002 In that case, I'll vote for the Carnival! *shameless self-whoring, I know* A few suggestions if we win: 1) Somewhere around the time that Mistress Sarah was kidnapped, right after it, there was a tag match. Carnival vs Someone, might have been handicap. In that match, Rane bars any Carnies from coming to ringside. Me and my partner bring Cardboard Cutouts of all the members anyway. At the end of the match, XF9 members hide behind the cutouts, then do some hit and run, allowing us the victory. I'd like that match. 2) Anything and everything with Edwin. 3) The ML DANCEOFF! 4) If you wanted to really dig deep, you could start with King's "Poker Promos" and Edwin's "Burn Ward", which sorta kinda paved the way for good ole' MC in the ML. I've got all three of those, if you want 'em. 5) And of course, Caveman Chris Stat Template. That's all from me.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted May 5, 2002 ::wipes the tears from his eyes:: God bless Cyclone Comet, where ever he may be because not even in my coke-filled mind could I come up with a vending machine car.
Guest BA_Baracus Report post Posted May 6, 2002 PROMO (Stubby P. McWeed); "Yeah...read it. The one episode of IGNite you decide to post was the idiotic one where I lost the Hide and Seek match? You sir are a buffoon! I brought up the possibility of doing a show like this some time ago. Maybe we could do a more official version and post it on the SWF board. Mothernature says, yeah..." Guest Suicide King Report post Posted May 6, 2002 I approve of classic Carnie stuff. Carry on. And if I may so recommend, right before Genesis 2 there was a lovely little match between myself and Stevens back when we were both faces. The winner got into the six pack challenge for the world title, and it was a wonderful little display of two consummate professionals putting on a show for the fans.
