LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 THAT'S RIGHT!!!!!! SCCW UPDATE FOR MONDAY 11/8/04 First off, we would like to thank all of the SoCalUncensored board members for their support. We are also amazed and appreciative of the support of the So Cal workers. Numerous wrestlers have asked to either participate on the show or work in the locker room in some capacity. We truly believe this is going to be an amazing event for the entire So Cal wrestling community. Every day this week we will be announcing at least one "So Cal Supercard" match and one King of the Deathmatch Tournament participant. By Friday, you will have most of the puzzle pieces and on Saturday morning, you will be able to reserve your tickets at SoCalCW.com. So, without further ado, here is today's update: Officially signed from Pro Wrestling Guerilla, Super Dragon will take on Chris Bosh in a match that should be worth the price of admission alone. Additionally, the Empire Wrestling Federation has joined SCCW and has already signed "Ghetto Psycho" Big Q to face Kenny King (from Tough Enough_ on January 15th. And finally, SCCW is proud to announce the first participant in the King of the Deathmatch Tournament - making is return to pro wrestling - HOMELESS JIMMY! Check SoCalUncensored tomorrow for two more matches and another KOTDM participant to be announced. I don't know how much this means to everyone else, but for me this is friggin' big. I've been a fan of Jimmy's work since '99/2000 and have enjoyed him so much that I tracked down his earlier work dating back to '96. The guy is a workhorse like none other. On more than a couple occasions, he put his life on the line in XPW and got a ton of injuries that most people don't know the full story of. As far as wrestling ability, he's definitely not anything special, but I'd put him up against ANYBODY - Nick Mondo, Necro Butcher, even Sabu - as one of the guys who has put the most on the line during their career. In a promotion where there was tons of bad booking and mismanaged gimmicks, the fans genuinely took to Jimmy. I remember when he got his first win, there were people in the crowd crying. Jimmy returning to wrestling is a testament to how much he loves the sport - he just can't stay away from the business. His family had been trying to make him quit for awhile, but as one can see, it apparently didn't work. The only thing I hope is that he doesn't go over the line - a lot of people worried about him during his XPW tenure because he took so many risks. Hopefully he'll tame it down a bit for his own good, because a lot of times he's been on the verge of very serious injury in stunts he's done. But anyway, it's great to hear that Jimmy is back, even if only for a one-night appearance. If you haven't already heard, Jimmy - along with XPW mainstays Kaos, Dynamite D, Johnny Webb, GQ Money, Steve Rizzono, Pogo the Clown, and even Kevin Kleinrock - will also be making his presence felt in my upcoming retrospective on the roots, formation, challenges, and eventual folding of XPW. More information on that retrospective can be found here: http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=58848
