House Shows you've been to and results

Recommended Posts

Guest O.J. Hart

I've been to plenty of shows. My first was in 1993 at the Civic Arena(now Mellon Arena) in Pittsburgh PA. This was around 2 weeks before Wrestlemania.

I have the card in front of me, and I marked down who won:

Bam Bam Biegelow pinned Bob Backlund

Owen Hart pinned Damien Demento

Doink pinned Crush

Tatanka defeated Intercotinental Champion Shawn Michaels by countout

WWF Tag Team Champions Money Inc. defeated The Stener Brothers

             INTERMISSION

Mr. Perfect defeated Lex Luger

The Undertaker pinned Giant Gonzalez

WWF Champion Bret Hart pinned Yokozuna

I've been to plenty of other WWF House Shows, most recently one in Pittsburgh on 1-26-02. You guys got any cool old school house shows you've been to. If you do, send results of the show(the results you can remeber).

I've heard that El Gigante & Ric Flair drew big houses because it's said people went to see Flair wrestle somebody else.

I went to one in Victoria B.C. about 10-12 years ago.  I stayed in the same hotel as all the wrestlers and achieved my life long goal of meeting and chatting with Bret Hart.  I also met Jimmy Hart, Koko B. Ware, Arn Anderson (I think the Brainbusters were tag champs at the time), Hercules, Brutus Beefcake (ASSHOLE!!!), and a few others that I can't really remember.  I can't remember what year it was but Demolition was wrestling with Crush as a member and The Brainbusters were tag champs.

I've been to numerous house shows but I'll never forget my very first one back in 1985.  Hulk Hogan beat Roddy Piper by DQ and when Piper left, Hogan grabbed the mic and yelled "Piper, get your ass back here".

To hear a wrestler swear for a young mark like me was pretty damn cool.

-I'm not very good with dates so i'm goin to try to get these in order...and only a few specific highlights because my memory is hazy sometimes

1-Portland Expo-I sat in the third row and it ended up huting my neck a lot. Vividly recall Nikolai Volkoff calling his opponent a "son of a bitch" in English and marking out like a 10 year old (which i may have been) for Hulk Hogan

2-Cumberland County Civic Center-I remember the main being Undertaker/Papa Shango...Papa Shango's smoke smelled terrible and Undertaker was HUGE in person

3-CCCS-A Bret Hart/ Shawn Micheals LADDER match of all things...it may hve been the main but again i don't remember...i just remember the insane part where Shawn flew over the top rope from the center of the ring

4-Augusta Civic Center-Highlighted by a fan attacking Shawn Micheals as he made his way to the ring (he/she just jumped on his back and he just threw him/her off) He posed afterwards with a little girl in the ring and said "damn he's a lot bigger than he looks on tv"

I loved house shows because the cheapest heat was the best heat....and the crowd yelled "faggot" at every heel

Dreamer420, you met the Bird Man!  You lucky SOB.

I've only been to a couple WWF house shows, the ones when they used to come to Philly on Super Bowl Sunday.  I even got to see Diesel and Bret Hart in a Steel Cage (the old school Steel Cage with the blue bars even).

I've also probably been to like 30 indpendant shows, since I never have to pay since I know a bunch of wrestlers.

My favorite house show memories are from when I was 12-13 years old in Erie, PA.  I remember seeing Bob Backlund as WWF Champion defending against the Masked Superstar, who my friends and I got to yell at us on his way to the ring, what a thrill.

I also remember seeing the Iron Shiek as WWF Champion, defending against Sal Bellomo, not exactly a classic.

One more memory is sitting front row and seeing Hulk Hogan, I can't remember who he wrestled, but it had to be 1984, so as a 14 year old it was a thrill to see the Hulkster, of course I wish I still wasn't seeing him today.

Well, mine is pretty old school as I was about 12 or 13 and got to see Southwest Championship Wrestling out of San Antonio, TX house show.  The matches were:

1)Al Perez d. Chicky Starr

2)Rock N Roll Express d. Gino Hernandez/Tully Blanchard

3)Voodoo Malumba d. Eric Embry

4)Chavo Guerrero d. Manny Fernandez

5)Bruiser Bob Sweetan d. Cowboy Scott Casey

6)Double Dog Collar Match= Killer Tim Brooks/Bobby Jaggers d. The Sheepherders Luke and Butch

Main Event 20 Man Battle Royal including 4 jobbers which were eliminated early but last 3 remaining were Sweetan, Embry and Brooks.  Cool part was that Sweetan and Embry (heels) double teamed Brooks to eliminate him but when Embry was celebrating Sweetan hit him from behind and won the match.  Classic heel move on another heel at the time.

God...I can't remember anything...

I remember that Savage beat Flair, and the Giant beat Sting at a show in Buffalo (don't remember anything else) although I'm pretty sure that Luger beat Duggan and DDP beat someone.

At a WCW show in Auburn Hills, MI I remember that Booker T beat Jericho, Flair beat Norton (cause Hall no showed), Bret Hart beat Curt Hennig and Sting beat Hogan in a cage.

Various ECW shows in Buffalo:

PitBulls beat FBI, Balls MAhoney beat Wild Bill, Taz beat Spike, Shane Douglas beat Chris Chetti, Dreamer beat Spicolli, Funk beat Raven, Sandman & Stevie Richards.  I don't remember who won:  Eliminators vs. Gangstas vs. Dudleys and Raven * Stevie vs. Funk & Dreamer

Meanie & Nova beat FBI, Credible beat Whipwreck, Whipreck & Dreamer beat Credible & Jason, Dudleys beat Sandman & Scorpio, Sabu beat Lynn, Snow beat Candido, RVD won the TV title from Bam Bam...

I also saw an ECW show where Awesome beat Tanaka...but I don't remember anything else from it.

I haven't been to a house show in a while...but am going to a WWF one tomorrow.

I get to see Scott Hall in his first match back in the WWF...lucky me.

My first house show was WWF at MSG in November 1991.  It was 3 days after Survivor Series, but before Tuesday in Texas, so Taker was the champ, but was not on the card.  Here are the matches I can remember off the top of my head.

IC Champ Bret Hard def. The Mountie

El Matador Tito Santana def. Kato (Of the Orient Express)

Ric Flair def. Hulk Hogan by pinfall(!) after hitting Hogan with brass knux

IRS beat someone

Shawn Michaels def. Virgil

The Bushwhackers and Bret Hart def The Nasty Boys and The Mountie

The Warlord beat a jobber

Westchester County Center, July 1992

Shawn Michaels def Tito Santana (My mom was yelling at Sherri and she heard her and gave this mean face lol)

Tatanka def Rick Martel

Ultimate Warrior and LOD def Papa Shango and The Nasty Boys (I went up by the entranceway and saw Shanho come out with his smoke and saw the LOD waiting in the dressing room

Westchester County Center, June 1993

Crush def Doink

Bob Backlund def. one of the Beverly Brothers

IC Champ Shawn Michaels def Marty Janetty

WWF Champ Yokozuna def Bret Hart

The Bushwhackers and Tiger Jackson (The Midget otherwise known as Dink) def The Brooklyn Brawler, A Midget, and someone else I don't remember

Kurt Angle and The Hardy Boyz def. Steve Austin and The Dudley Boyz in  an elimination 6 man tag (Austin pillmanizes angle and taunts him up the aisle saying the pledge of allienge , hilarious, angle gets up  and put the anklelock on austin on the stage to end the show)
