Guest Nanks Report post Posted November 15, 2004 Do we have any golfers among us?? If so where do you play, what are you hitting off, what kind of clubs are you using, etc?? Personally I'm currently playing off 17 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club and have begun breaking in my beautiful new set of Taylor Made combo irons and Callaway Great Big Bertha II and Titleist Fairway wood with Ping g-2 insert putter. Combo irons are fucking rad. Semi blades from 3-6 iron, full blade from 7-SW. Margin for error with the longer clubs and precision from inside 150m.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I love miniature golf and golf video games, and the excellence that is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 ahs actually gotten me to watch golf, whereas I always thought it was horribly boring before. I've even considered trying to play, but that's as far as I've gotten. I went to a driving range once years ago and sucked. It's too bad that my dad is halfway across the country, or else he could likely teach me a thing or 2. He was a state championship golfer in his day.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I've played a bit of mini golf in my day. Kicked a bit of ass too.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I've played a bit of mini golf in my day. Kicked a bit of ass too. I could take you... bitch. No, seriously... Me, you, a gallon of vodka, and 18 holes of mini-golf. Good times would be had by all.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 18, 2004 A gallon? Vodka? You wussie. Down the way a bit, there's an old mini-golf course that was shut down about 10 years ago, but a lot of the statues and other course novelty items are still there, albeit dusty, filthy and probably home to at least one family of Redbacks. When we went out with our clubs smacking canetoads, we'd often stop by the course for a drunken putt. Before stoppin' by the old swimmin' hole.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I don't even know if there are any courses by my house since I just moved here, but I figure that Southern California will have plenty around. Just a random thought- I need to find a place that organizes mini-golf tournaments for adults. If such a thing exists, I will have a great new pastime. I'm going to quit now because it's late and I can't think straight. I can now sleep well knowing that I have inadvertentlycontributed to the ruination of this thread. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I don't because I get too pissed off doing it. I like it but I've blown up one too many times on a missed putt.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I just got a hole-in-one on the eighth-ranked course in Canada (The Links at Crowbush Cove). Broke 100 because of that.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2004 Avid golfer mind you. My woods are Top Flight, while I have Tommy Armour Irons and Wedges, plus a McGregor putter from the 70's, valued at 200 bucks. I probably have a 10 handicap.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 I play a pretty good bit (once a week) at the college course near my home. I'm pretty horrid out there, but I really enjoy it and hope to come into my own with my swing, etc, without taking lessons. Could someone explain the way the handicap works? Guest Nanks Report post Posted November 19, 2004 It's basically how many over par you shoot on an average round.
