Guest Rick001 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 ....Gee just as it looks like Flair is turning face he becomes a heel.......I've seen THIS coming since he drafted the NWO. Gha now next week on WWF (excuse me) WWE Raw we gotta hear how Flair joined the winning team. I guess it was time for a heel turn in another 6 months he'll be a face again. In the mean time lets see Vince do a face turn. Bad show...bad, bad, bad, bad, bad show
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 If that main event doesn't pull down the ratings, nothing will. ...well, no. UT vs. Big Show, for example, would probably pull it down even more. But you see my point.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I like Flair as a heel, but him in the nWo just shows how desperate the WWE is for ratings, which will eventually bite the WWE back in the ass once they start getting 1's and 2's consistently on their shows for ratings. Tonight's Raw sucked. Get a much better creative team NOW before it's too late to save the last of the Big 3.
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 That whole show was brutal, after the draft it looked like Raw was going to be the better show but lately neither one of the shows have been any good. For the first time in a few years I felt like I was wasted 2 hour when I could have been watching the playoffs.
Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Sweet God, has there been a worse RAW in a while? Hogan's total inability to drive UT's bike was almost WCW-esque in terms of sheer ineptitude. And cutting away from the MAIN EVENT to FURTHER that whole storyline only showed how pointless the ME really was. Does ANYBODY understand why Kevin Nash appeared at all? 7 title swaps in one show and I doubt anybody cares about any of them. I'm looking forward to D-Lo v Regal, admittedly, but letting Spike hold the Euro Title at all was a colossal error. DO NOT LET JERRY LAWLER UTTER ONE SINGLE WORD ABOUT WOMEN FOR THE REST OF HIS TIME IN THE WWF! Why DID Bradshaw and Austin have any dissension since Austin didn't KNOW what Flair "discovered" and they got along fine LAST WEEK? An absolutely abhorrent episode of RAW. It was nigh unwatchable---and I've liked RAW, by and large, as of late. -=Mike

Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Well, I have to say I enjoyed Raw. That is, I enjoyed the women's match and even the hardcore title (as Scott Keith would say, "entertaining crap", and that was quite the powerbomb Trish took). I liked Booker T's sketch, and was even willing to forgive Goldust (that weird baseball outfit was amusing). I liked Eddy and RVD and Jeff and Booker, I was happy to see D'Lo. Brock wasn't up to his usual standard but I still liked watching him. The rest of it I just sorta tuned out. I mean, not only were the "plot twists" incomprehensible, I couldn't see any reason to care about them...so I didn't. It helps to have a Game Boy Advance handy to liven up dull moments. (Although UT's bike no-selling Hogan was hilarious.) One thing, though; Flair isn't necessarily nWo, is he? He could just be an evil owner using the nWo to torment Austin. That sort of role would work for him, I think. If he IS nWo I'll definitely be disappointed. I mean, at this point the nWo is so...cowardly and stuff. Not a real threat at all. *sigh* What I wouldn't give to see the Radicalz run rampant over everyone like they did in 2000...(Of course that was with DX's help, but still...) And they have killer music.
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Damn damn damn damn DAMN! Fell asleep AGAIN! So I missed the ending to the RVD-Hardy/Guerrero-Booker T match. Apparently there was a Goldust run-in (what a surprise) and a tandem swanton/5-star for the win. Anyone want to elaborate? I also fell asleep for the end of the main event. Apparently Flair turned heel (gee, didn't see that coming). I was awake when the Pier Six brawl started and Austin hit the double stunner, but kinda lost it after that until the total end and Flair's music was playing and JR was all "Why, Flair, dammit?" or something like that. Anyone wanna fill in the blanks, please? Of course I was awake for that pathetic swimsuit competition. Thanks, Lawler. Nice to see some things haven't changed with the times. You suck, you puppy-obsessed freak. And was it just me, or was the Lesnar match really slow and boring? He needs to just get in, do the damage, and get out (especially with ham-and-eggers like Stasiak), or make the match actually a contest. This in-between shit is really getting stale and they're going to ruin the goldmine they have with him. Hey Hogan... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Is there anything he can do right? Kill Hogan/UT now. I don't even want to see them in that 4-way they keep hinting at. I guess the "E" really stands for "E"gregiously horrendous programming. I marvel at how bad this show got right around the time Hogan came out. D'ya think that's a sign? ugh.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Hogan is a fucking bore. I didn't see him have trouble with the bike because I turned to the playoffs. Undertaker is just as much of a bore as Hogan is and their combined powers are enough to make televisions change chanels across the country. Who the hell do they think cares about that feud? That shit killed the show in my eyes. The show was decent until that shit, then they had the tag match which came on afterwards. I would be pissed if I had to go on after that boring shit. They need to get Hogan off of tv now. Either that or have him stop doing shit with the Undertaker.
Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 This is starting to get scary. I haven't enjoyed RAW much since the split but tonight's show sank to new depths. I think it's safe to say that the main event for Judgment Day is officially dead. I thought Hogan's comeback of "blah, blah, blah, blah...." pretty much nailed the coffin shut. But then we have Taker running away as Hogan rides the cycle up the ramp at the same speed he runs. It's now just become a sad parody of WWF title feud. You don't have to look any further than the live audience to gage a reaction to the show. They took a crowd that was rabid at the beginning of the show and had them completely bored by the time the main event came around. But who can blame them for the crap they had to sit through. How in the hell does Steve Austin have anything to do with Big Show's place on the card? The promo made no sense and not just because of Big Show's poor attempt at speaking English. And what a hypocrite Jim Ross is for hyping how huge Big Show is when he ranted week after week about how BS had to lose weight if he wanted a big push. So much for that. And what a main event. Notice only two people got any reaction at all: Austin and Flair. No one else belonged anywhere near the main event and were treated accordingly. But I'm sure next week the main event will be Austin/Bradshaw v. Show/Flair/X-Pac/Hall The best match on the show was the Eddie/RVD tag match. RVD looked more into that match than any he's had in a while. But what really pissed me off was that as soon as the match ended they cut back to a replay of OldManHogan running over OldManTaker's bike as if someone cared the first time it happened. Booker T and Goldust were in the ring getting in each other's faces, but the announcers did nothing to build up their problems. The announcers also didn't bother to say one word about RVD pinning the IC champ 2 weeks before their rematch. They made the whole match come across as pointless filler until they could go back to the blooper reel from the grumpy old men. Terri is disgusting. Please keep her clothed. It was good to see D'Lo again and he could be a breath of fresh air for the RAW brand. But any feud with William Regal is going to be a snoozer in the ring. I hate the Hardcore title changes. It comes across as a big joke and demeans all the titles just to get a couple of cheap run-in pops. Why are Steven Richards and Jazz together? Wouldn't it be nice if the WWE actually came up for a reason for their pairing and decided to share it with the rest of us?
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I swear that was almost WCW esque it its utter sucktitude. I mean we're talking Russo shit here. The whole UT/Hogan angle goes into the Twilight Zone of horrible wrestling angles. I mean I laughed my ass off, even felt sorry for Hogan. That sort of shit happens on SMDN all the time but it gets edited out (the Austin net gun thing for instance). And the whole surreal thing of Hogan signalling as he turned! Or the bike no selling the semi, and later on UT's whooping. By the way, I actually dug Molly's suit there. Very Esther Williams. I'd take her over Terri any day. Flair turned heel......wow I am surprised. Fuck the WWE.....fuck them in their stupid asses.

Anyone wanna fill in the blanks, please? Jeff was in the ring with Eddie. RVD and Booker were fighting on the outside. Goldust did the run-in and Hardy grabs him and throws him over the top rope. He lands on Booker T as RVD rolls back into the ring. It was actually a pretty cool spot but the cameras were out of place. That left RVD/Jeff in there alone with Eddie. They went to seperate corners and got on the top rope. Jeff did the Swanton and RVD his the 5 star a few seconds later. And about 10 seconds later they cut-out to show a replay of Hogan running over the bike. Show beat up Austin for a few minutes as J.R. tried to put over Show as this huge monster who no one could beat one-on-one. Hebner took a really weak ref bump. Austin hit the low blow and the stunner. He went to look for the ref and when he turned around, Flair hit him with the chair. Flair smashed the chair on Austin's leg and then put him in the figure four. Flair then got a mic and announced the JD handicap match to finally end the show. Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Detailed Raw report and thoughts. By Kevin Malton of http://wrestlerevolt.cjb.net From Hartford, CT, home of the McMahon dynasty. To open the show a promo aired of a guy cutting the new WWE logo into a hedge. A graphic of "Get the F out" was shown. Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross are our announcers. JR told us "welcome to World Wrestling Entertainment Raw". Thanks. I imagine the opening sequence puzzled the non internet fans. How about an explanation? I wonder how many animals weren't saved while the World Wildlife Fund spent money on taking McMahon to court? :::shoots Panda::: (1) Jazz (w/Steven Richards) beat Trish Stratus in a non DQ match to retain the WWE Women's Title when Richards interfered at 3:18. After the match Bubba ran out and attacked Richards. Bubba gave Richards the Bubba Bomb and pinned him to win the WWE Hardcore Title. Raven ran in and nailed Bubba to win the title. Credible ran in, attacked Raven, and scored the pin. Crash Holly came out and pinned Justin. Bubba attacked Crash, who lost the belt to Trish. Jazz sprayed a fire extinguisher at Bubba. While blinded, Bubba put Trish through a table. Richards covered Trish and regained the title. After Richards left the ring, Bubba realized what he'd done to Trish and carried her to the back. A pretty fun opening and kudos to everyone involved for getting the timing spot on. The NWO head to the ring for our weekly in-ring promo. The Big Show shows us footage of him attacking Austin just in case we forgot. Flair comes out and reminds the NWO of the main event (and us viewers incase we forgot). Hall responds by saying that he has a surprise for the main event. It's going to change the history of the WWE forever, too. I wonder if Flair is going NWO. Really, I wonder. Footage from the UK PPV aired showing Spike "injuring" his ankle. For details read my report of the UK PPV. (2) William Regal beat Spike Dudley to win the WWE European Title at 0:34. Regal cut a promo asking Spike if he wanted to forefit the title due to his injury. Spike the little dog he is atttacked Regal but ended up getting pinned in thirty seconds. Afterwards Regal attacked Spike until DLO BROWN ran in and made the save. Great, give DLO a program with someone who totally contrasts his style. By the way, DLO will go over in a PPV match that will suck. In the back Flair told Arn that he is going to the NWO locker room to find out more on the surprise. I guess Flair forgot to consult the writing team before the show. :::beheads Giraffe::: Flair entered the NWO dressing room and found an APA hat. :::eats a RED HERRING::: (3) Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman) beat Shawn Stasiak at 2:03. After beating the hell out of Stasiak Heyman ordered Brock to pin him. Which he did. To end this silly squash match. Brock needs opponents of a higher standing if he is going to get over. Apparently Takers bike has been stolen. A backstage worker informed Taker that Hogan took it. Hogan made his way to the ring on Takers bike. The crowd popped huge. Hogan sat on Takers bike at ringside while Taker entered the rampway. Taker said he wants his bike back and Hogan offered to take it up the ramp to him. Yet Hogan couldn't get the bike started. Lame. Hogan gave up and chased Taker backstage but returned to attempt to start the bike in which he succeeded. In the back Hogan parked the bike infront of a truck, climbed in the cab and threatened to demolish the bike. After the break Hogan drove the truck over Takers bike. (4) Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy beat Booker T & Eddie Guerrero at 5:42. Goldust ran in but was ran out by Jeff. Good finish to a so so match. In the back Terri challenged Molly to a swimsuit contest. Flair showed Arn the APA hat. Flair brought up the fact that no one saw Big Show attack Bradshaw last week. Arn remained silent. He's mimmicking tonights crowd, has to be. Terri beat Molly in a swimsuit contest after the crowd popped for Terri more than they did for Molly. Afterwards Molly attacked Terri. Pointless. Flair entered Bradshaws' dressing room and found Kanes' mask. Flair set off to show Austin his find. Flair knocked on Austins door. Bradshaw appeared and said he doesn't owe Flair an explanation. In the back Taker found his bike and got upset. Kevin Nash arrived in a limo. Oh joy. Anyone want to buy a fur coat? (5) Ric Flair, Austin and Bradshaw fought Hall, Show and X-Pac to a no contest. Standard Raw tag main event. Flair finally turned and nailed Austin with a chair for the finish before applying a figure four. Flair took the mic and told us that it is Flair and Big Show v Austin at Judgment Day. Notes: Only five matches (six if you count the Molly/Terri debacle). This doesn't wash. Flair's turn was too predictable and too played out. I guess Nash arriving means he is reinstated and it did serve as a swerve. No explanation to the viewers why their WWF is now WWE. Pathetic show. Quit visiting mark boy sites. http://wrestlerevolt.cjb.net owns.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 7, 2002 How much time does the WWE have on the old Life Support Meter? Hogan vs Taker guarantees to be the worst WWE Title Match ever...hmm..well it will set the bar really high for all future WWE Title matches anyway. As funny as the Hogan/Taker/Bike wont work segment was, you can't tell me that it me that it in anyway helped to build any interest in the Title Match. The Roster Split, well its official. B-A-D idea. RAW has consistently been a crapfest of a show and Smackdown has been only slightly better.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Terri is disgusting. Please keep her clothed. I agree totally... I was physically sick to my stomach when I saw her. All six ribs visible? I think I'm gonna puke... Also, I kept up the new WWE TV tradition of turning off at the first sight of Hogan, so I have no idea what happened. Sure, I've said this already, but it bears repeating. Keep the new tradition! And get the F out!

Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted May 7, 2002 The WWE should start having their wrestlers wear authentic rare furs from endangered species and other such materials (bought cheap from assorted banana republics). I don't think they'd go so far as to kill an animal on screen, maybe imply it though (have Rikishi eat a panda bear or something...).
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Anyone catch JR's other, minor, screw up? When Bubba's going telling himself to get the tables, JR is like "... and for the hearing impaired, Bubba just said that he's going to get the tables!" Now, if they were hearing impaired that'd mean they couldn't hear JR either. Eh, Raw blew. The Booker/Goldust segment along with the Booker/Eddy v. RVD/Jeff match and D-Lo's return were good. Rest was... bad. I did, however, laugh my ass off when the bike stalled as Hogan was going up the ramp.
