Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 one of the worst Raws in a while.... lets go over all the mishaps JR: "we are not the wwf anymore!!"..while wearing a WWF shirt Hogan's motorcycle expertise at work Bubba grabs trish violently by the hair to powerbomb her, awkwardly frops her gets blinded, powerbombs her (like he was going to do anyway) and they sell it like a big mistake.. and bubba is such a hero for picking her up? could someone explain? selling the motorcycle crush almost as much as hitting rock with the semi..and why would Taker care anyway? hasnt he lost like 3 bikes? and according to JR his bike is more important than his wife??? or did they erase her retroactively from continuity? The NWO had Bradshaw hats!?!?!? Bradshaw had a Kane mask?!?!? wow thats so shocking....especially because they have like 20 merchandise stands that carry all that crap IN THE ARENA!!!!! im sure they wouldnt have to pay full price either.. The chants during Brock-Stasiak..well the WWF (i mean e) had no control over that but that was awful. Shows heel turn explanation: "I was in the main event of WM2000 (and eliminated 1st) and i wasnt in WMX8..so i breath fire .. and stuff". So what about WMX7?? he was in the Hardcore match on that one and wasnt too upset...did he get some weird flashback in his sleep and just realize it now? He main evented Survivor Series, didnt he? Why not just have him say "hey i used to be world champion and now im treated like a joke". Get the F out... came across worse than it sounded. (any truth to the rumor that the rejected double meaning promotional campaign was "HEY, LETS GO GET SOME E!" to appeal to all the ravers?) the good: Dlo on Raw...Goldust "in costume"...the tag match(RVD/Hardy - Booker/Eddie)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Better show than last week, but that's not saying much. Some random thoughts: --Damn, that was a vicious table shot Trish took. --Funny skit w/ Booker & Goldust, but there's so much more they could be doing w/ Booker. Bradshaw gets a push, but not Booker? --The Hogan stuff was just HORRIBLE. --I like heel Flair, but they pulled the trigger on the turn way too early. They could have built it up to where he could have turned at Judgement Day. But, dammit if I wasn't marking out like a little bitch when Flair put the Figure 4 on Austin. --Goldberg chants? Real, or piped-in?
Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I liked the first 45 minutes but didn't get to see the rest.Judging from what I've read,I'm kinda glad.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 --I like heel Flair, but they pulled the trigger on the turn way too early. They could have built it up to where he could have turned at Judgement Day. i agree. the whole point of drawing it out slowly and building it up is too DRAW MONEY!!! they should have saved it for extra ppv buys. On Heat have Flair say tonight..it gets settled or somrthing like that.. and have Austin swear he will end the questions as well.
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Fell asleep AGAIN! So I missed the ending to the RVD-Hardy/Guerrero-Booker T match. Apparently there was a Goldust run-in (what a surprise) and a tandem swanton/5-star for the win. Anyone want to elaborate? I also fell asleep for the end of the main event. Apparently Flair turned heel (gee, didn't see that coming). I was awake when the Pier Six brawl started and Austin hit the double stunner, but kinda lost it after that until the total end and Flair's music was playing and JR was all "Why, Flair, dammit?" or something like that. Anyone wanna fill in the blanks, please? Jeff was in the ring with Eddie. RVD and Booker were fighting on the outside. Goldust did the run-in and Hardy grabs him and throws him over the top rope. He lands on Booker T as RVD rolls back into the ring. It was actually a pretty cool spot but the cameras were out of place. That left RVD/Jeff in there alone with Eddie. They went to seperate corners and got on the top rope. Jeff did the Swanton and RVD his the 5 star a few seconds later. And about 10 seconds later they cut-out to show a replay of Hogan running over the bike. Show beat up Austin for a few minutes as J.R. tried to put over Show as this huge monster who no one could beat one-on-one. Hebner took a really weak ref bump. Austin hit the low blow and the stunner. He went to look for the ref and when he turned around, Flair hit him with the chair. Flair smashed the chair on Austin's leg and then put him in the figure four. Flair then got a mic and announced the JD handicap match to finally end the show. Thanks, dude. Bleh, I still can't get the bad taste of RAW out of my mouth. If this doesn't make Vince stand up and take notice of the decline of his product, he needs to get out of the business now. Guest caboose Report post Posted May 7, 2002 D-LO IS BACK! D-LO IS BACK! D-LO IS BACK! But why did they have to feud him with my fellow Brit Regal? anyway... D-LO IS BACK! D-LO IS BACK! D-LO IS BACK!
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I hope D'lo will refute Regal claim to being the "greatest European champion ever". They seem to be pointing that way, but D'lo should have come out as soon as Regal made that claim.

Guest What?! Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Raw was soooooo bad, that I LOVED it! I don't care if the Booker/Goldust segments are pointless, they should have them every Raw! But the best was Hogan and the motorcycle and Undertaker having to stand on the stage pointing in fear for 2 minutes because Hogan didn't know how to use the damn thing. I really believe that UT just walked off to laugh at Hogan and Hogan followed to ask 'Taker how to use the motorcycle. Really good Raw IMO just for it's sheer badness. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Booker's facial expressions to Goldust during the skits are great. Especially when Goldust says his gay stuff and Booker looks all shocked and disgusted. This is some of the best comedy stuff since Foley's comedy heyday a few years ago. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Booker T is carrying those skits. You are waiting to see what he is going to do next, not what Goldust will do. Even if you are waiting to see what Goldust will do, it's because you want to see Booker T's reaction. Booker T is a star, and should be treated as such. The skits are funny and stuff, but I think Booker is funny on his own.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted May 7, 2002 RAW was pathetic. I know everyone rags on Smackdown around here, but at least you have guys like Angle and Jericho that can turn almost anything into gold. Tonight's RAW had nothing. The only segments that were watchable (neither was what I would call 'good') were the Tag Match, and Brock/Stasiak. The Main Event and the Hogan/Taker crap were two of the worst segments that I have ever seen, and that includes the Russo years which I absolutely hated. Guest chirs3 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Umm... Er... Well, that is... I... Let's just say "World Wrestling Entertainment" fits, because I just watched the tape of it (couldn't see it last night), and it did indeed entertain. "Get the F out" - nice to see them taking it lightly. Wrestling was on par with every other Raw for the past 31278347128937 months. I thought all the promos and matches were good, with intermittent crappy little pieces. For example: I thought the Hogan on the bike, Taker on the ramp scene was good. But then watching Taker try to destroy a set by... um... throwing a crate? Not good. The entire night was like that - lots of good with occasional bad. Overall I thought it was really kinda fun. If I had one major complaint, it's that they absolutely blew the Flair heel turn. It was called badly, acted badly, shot badly, everything.
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Damn Raynor, you oughta be our resident optimist or something. Mostly good with some bad is the opposite of how most people around here would describe RAW. ^__^;
Guest KOR420 Report post Posted May 8, 2002 all i have to say about RAW is its about damn time someone no sold the undertaker(Read the Sig)
Guest Dick Hertz Report post Posted May 8, 2002 I didnt think raw was as horrible as everyone thought it was. The hogan- taker thing was poorly executed , but basic standard wwf, or wwe, or whatever, crap. Does ANYONE actually want to see that friggin match? Good way to kill any and all of his popularity, pairing him with another dinosaur. Feud him with Stone cold already and send him off to retirement. The Booker/Goldust thing was pretty damn funny. Fuck u if u think otherwise. Even if a blind man could see the flair heel turn coming from a mile away, it was still cool to see. Big Show looks like he could actually be half entertaining in the NWO. If Halls gone though, then they need to bring in steiner. Im not sure the name WWE will ever catch on. It sucks.
