Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted May 7, 2002 --- The U.S has finally officially stated that we won't participate in the ICC. We won't OPPOSE it, but we are not going to be a part of it. As expected, "human rights groups" have their collective panties in a bunch over this---but they also thought that our treatment of the Guantanamo Bay prisoners was worse than Cuba's treatment of its own prisoners, so their opinion doesn't mean much to me. --- $114M for Spider-Man? Damn! That is a SHITLOAD o' money. If anybody EVER asks you to quantify what a shitload of money actually is, the answer is $114M over 3 days. --- For people who feel the press really hasn't been that unfair in the coverage of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, this might be an interesting read: http://www.jewishjournal.com/home/preview.php?id=8515 --- Even the most "open" countries are starting to have a problem with people silencing dissent. In Holland, "conservative" (conservative, of course, being a relative term) politician Pim Fortuyn was assassinated. How did the head of the EU respond? Why, by suggesting that democratic parties "campaign in a very cautious way, and in a balanced and serene way to try to orientate the debate towards democratic values" OR, in layman's terms, conform like a mo-fo. --- $114M!?!?!? --- Woody Allen STILL sucks as a director/actor/writer. I won't even go into how amateurish his films are edited (I could do a better job and I've never edited a thing in my life--- fill in your own joke HERE) --- LSU suing a student because his personal website is www.lsulaw.com and they feel it's infringing upon their copyright and confuses the public. The site's owner, student Douglas Dorhauer, responds with: "If you can't figure out that this is not the official site of a prominent Baton Rouge-area law school, then you may do well to take up a career in macramé or pottery — anything but the law, which requires keen analytical skills." Got to love that kid---and way to go LSU in building up good relations with the student body. --- $114M? Damn! Well, I'm still bored---and now have absolutely nothing left to say. -=Mike

Guest TJH Report post Posted May 7, 2002 If your going to talk about stuff which doesn't matter, I'm going to list all the things that piss me off: The European Union: Just another level of government, which nobody needs. (I'm not European, BTW). Also, hippocritical opposition of Israel. Amnesty International: Just a socialist forum for critisizing Western governments. On their website the top heading critisizes Australia's asylum seeker policy. I rest my case. Eastern Europe: Poland last year elected the "Socialists", who in actual fact are the ex-communists re-badged. In Russia's last election the Communists got 35% of the vote. France: A book which claims the U.S government faked the September 11 attacks reached #1 on the best sellers list. United Nations: (See European Union). Critisism of Nuclear Power: The cleanest, cheapest most efficient way of obtaining electricity. Why do the same people who want less greenhouse gases oppose it?? Japan, South Korea hosting World Cup: Shouldn't the World Cup go to countries with some ability in soccer? Of the last 3 Cups, 2 have gone to countries which suck at soccer, U.S.A and Japan/Korea. (BTW I hate soccer).
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Mike, what was that you were saying about oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico filling up again for some reason? I hadn't heard about that but it sounds interesting.

I hadn't heard about that but it sounds interesting. >>> Saw a snippet on that on Fox News. For whatever reason, the oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico are slowly refilling. Don't know if this is a worldwide phenomenon, but they said it is definitely happening in the Gulf. Which, yes, is a little odd---but it could really piss off OPEC if true. -=Mike

That's some pretty funny stuff, most of all I like how Doug responds to the BIG BAD law school. I think I'll go visit his site now because I'm also bored. Guest Report post Posted May 13, 2002 A psychic was arrested for trying to carry marijuana on board an aeroplane. Apparently she failed to foresee this. In related news, several of her closest friends have promised to visit her in their astral bodies if she's incarcerated...
