Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted May 7, 2002 You know, as much as I support the theory that the place for women in this world is the kitchen (ha), Trish Stratus REALLY deserves a shitload of respect for coming from a stiff and nervous model with no wrestling experience to one of the WWF's best women's wrestlers in around a one year period. Throughout her career she has taken some nasty bumps (including being dropped face first from ten feet by jazz tonight and being rifled through a table that her 100lbs of body weight probably has a tough time breaking) that most guys in the WWF probably wouldnt even take and has always done what was best for the company. Sure I might just be saying this because she is hot as hell but it's damn true.
Guest muswp1 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 If the rest of the women in the WWF (no I'm not calling it the WWE) put through the effort she did in the last year, the women's title might be taken seriously. She went from a valet with zero experience and talent to the hardest working women wrestler in the company in what has to be record time. She makes most of the other women look really bad in terms of working in the ring.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 7, 2002 The only thing I don't like about Trish is that God-awful catchphrase. Everytime she says "Stratusfaction", it just seems so forced. Other than that, you gotta love her.

If the MEN put in the same effort as Trish... Seriously, Trish has impressed greatly with her work ethic and improvement, as have some of the other women recently, and a large portion of credit has to go to Fit Finlay. Since he joined the WWF, he's been working with the women, and it seems his work has payed off.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I agree on all points. Trish has my vote so far as most improved wrestler of the year. She gets the shit kicked out of her and has been starting to put together matches that make sense as opposed to the dribble that Stacy and Torrie put out whenever wwf has those 2 out there in the ring. Don't get me wrong, I like seeing Stacy and Torrie and feel they have a role to play(eye candy) They should either follow Trish's example, start getting better in-ring or stay out of the womens way. I never thought I'd say it, but the women's division is being better presented than the other midcard titles. They actually have a little troop of girls that can roll.(Trish,Jazz, Molly, Ivory, Jackie)
Guest Blue Bacchus Report post Posted May 7, 2002 But yet the marks still chant "Puppies Puppies" during a women's match. I'm glad that women are finally getting a serious push as wrestlers as opposed to the days of Chyna and Sable, which were just glorified T&A matches. I kinda think that it hurts the ladies division when they have a match and then a swimsuit posedown afterwards. It cheapens it. Ah well... I know sex sells... This is my first post. And "wamh" stands for "We're all mysoginists here". Quite appropriate, really
Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I give her all the credit in the world. She was one of my least favorite performers (both personality and in the ring). Her in ring work and effort are much improved. Hats off to trish
Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted May 7, 2002 It is a shame that the crowds are so conditioned to T&A now that they break out into mindless chants of "we want puppies" during any women's matches.Jerry Lawler and glorified fluff like Terri will make sure that doesn't change. Most of what I've seen lately has been good competitive stuff, especially between the group of women that DangerousA mentioned.Trish's improvement has been one of the highlights of the last 6 months. Guest notJames Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Trish, who's only been wrestling for the better part of 2 years, bumped better and harder in her title match than Hogan, a "seasoned veteran" AND the company's standard bearer, did in his title match against Jericho. If that's not a sign that the Orange Dinosaur must go, I don't know what is. Kudos, Trish. T.O. represent!!! (Actually, I'm originally from Kingston, but you get the idea...) And no, we're not all misogynists here. I hate everyone equally.
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 All Right! My people! Represent! Uh! Nah, seriously, I've been thinking this for a year now. If most of the men only had half the work ethic she's had in the WWF... She's on the short list of wrestlers I always like watching wrestle. Say, notJames...there's an idea... JR: "Oh my GAWD! Stratusfaction Bulldog on Hogan! Why Trish Why?" JL: "Woo Hoo! Pupp--uh oh..." JR: "Trish just gave The King that Heinous kick to the side of the head! My Gawd...Lawler has to be out cold." Guest graph9 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 i think she has really improved to, but i think the props she is getting latley has alot 2 do with how she looks. Trish is representing what the company has always wanted..the total package.. someone with T&A who can wrestle..because i have a feeling if she looked like jazz..meaning someone who dosen't look like a model but has alot of talent, alot of people wouldn't be gushing over what a good wrestler she is, that would be totally overlooked but instead there would be a bunch of threads saying how ugly she was..kind of like what's happening to jazz on da internet now.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 7, 2002 Definitely true, Graph. But I think, no matter how dog-faced we the internet community think Jazz is, we do all recognize that she's pretty bad-ass in-ring. Granted, we'd rather romp with Trish or Molly, but I think Jazz is a bit scarier in terms of ass-kickage, too. So, it all works out! Huzzah!
Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted May 7, 2002 The difference between Trish and Jazz's situations is that Jazz was already somewhat established in terms of wrestling ability because of her time in ECW.Trish was a manager who got in the ring occasionally, usually in some sort of gimmick match and the matches generally weren't that watchable (for the athleticism anyway). The praise for Trish is for the fact she has gone from eye candy to a legitimate wrestler in a relatively short span of time. Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted May 7, 2002 She does deserve credit for how far she's got. And to think, Lita had to do all that work in MEXICO and still sucks!
Guest graph9 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 alot of you have some good points..and its true that jazz was already an established wrestler and with her ability i wonder what would the respone be to her if she had the model looks like trish..totally diffrent..it wouldn't matter if she had no mic skills. And i wish that someone else..pre-injury...LITA..would have took pointers from trish pretaining to hard work, because its obvious that she has worked hard .. But im wondering about da direction the division is going because it seems like they are taking all of this T&A..with no prior wrestling experience.. like trish and victoria and teaching them to wrestle..but like i mentioned before thats what da company always wanted..And the other women with way more experience wrestling like molly and jazz are still trying to get over a little bit with the crowds because they don't come on strong in the T&A department... because lets face it you guys do not want to see a couple of women who look like jazz wrestle in da ring no matter how good they are..but after all it is entertainment
Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I've been saying for a few months now that Trish has become my favorite Womens wrestler. Actually, I get more hyped up for a Trish/Jazz match then I do for most of the WW((((E))))) Roster. WATCH OUT TRISH!!!!!!! Trish will either get a predigree from Triple H to kill her heat or She'll be placed as a nWo chick so they came mooch off her heat and kill it in the mean time. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted May 7, 2002 at first I didn't like the idea of trish becoming a wrestler because we all know what usually happens in that case. she sure as hell surprised me with all her new found wrestling ability. I guess we should credit fit finley and all the house shows trish works.

Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 I agree hole-heartedly with all of you. Trish has improved a GREAT deal over the last 6 months, in and out of the ring. Her transition from valet to wrestler has been a smooth ride. I can only hope she is rewarded for her hard work with another Women's Title reign. Hats AND Pants off to Trish Stratus! Guest Report post Posted May 7, 2002 graph brings up good points, and I think he's right to a degree. Probably part of why we're gushing over Trish's improved wrestling ability is the fact that we've been able to watch her improve before our eyes (learn on the job, after the fact of being hired, how to be a wrestler). And yes we probably do like her more because she's "hot" [but then, that's human psychology, there's a bunch of studies and shit that show we are more predisposed to liking "attractive" people and attributing more positive...attributes (I feel so redundant) to them]. But after years of women who didn't have to bother with wrestling because they were "hot" [Hi Sable] or were related to the boss [Hi Steph], it's refreshing and appreciated to see someone who came in as a hottie and wouldn't really have had to become a good wrestler (she came in to be T&A for the team of the same name) become a good wrestler. Kinda like when Shane McMahon would take all those Insane Bumps when he didn't really have to because he was the boss' son and his position in the WWF (fuck WWE) is secure. But she's hot and she can wrestle, and has WORKRATE~! too. Plus she invents new moves (or at least uses moves unique to the WWF). Like the 'rana variation in the corner, the Mafia Kick type thingy, and that "Gallows Sleeper" thing she used to do from sitting on the turnbuckle and choking the opponent out hangman style with a sleeper. I miss that move, thought it was cool.
