Got my tickets for Sasquatch today.

Ha, you son of a bitch. I was just about to post asking which one of the three days looks best. I don't feel like dropping cash to camp out the whole weekend, and I'm leaning more towards the first day, mostly because I'd love to see R.E.M. live. My girlfriend doesn't give a shit, so I can go on any of the days.

Saturday, May 24th

R.E.M. / Modest Mouse / M.I.A. / The New Pornographers / The National / Ozomatli / Beirut / Dengue Fever / Fleet Foxes / The Breeders / Okkervil River / Crudo (featuring Mike Patton & Dan The Automator) / Destroyer / Dead Confederate / Grand Archives / David Bazan / Joshua Morrison / Vince Mira with the Roy Kay Trio / Throw Me The Statue / The Shaky Hands

Sunday, May 25th

The Cure / Death Cab For Cutie / Michael Franti & Spearhead / Blue Scholars / Cold War Kids / Tegan & Sara / Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks / The Kooks / Mates of State / Rogue Wave / White Rabbits / The Heavenly States / 65daysofstatic / Sera Cahoone / The Blakes / The Cops / J. Tillman / "Awesome"

Monday, May 26th

The Flaming Lips U.F.O. Show / The Mars Volta / Flight Of The Conchords / Rodrigo Y Gabriela / Built To Spill / The Hives / Matt Costa / Ghostland Observatory / Jamie Lidell / Battles / The Cave Singers / The Little Ones / Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down / Pela / Kinski / Dyme Def / Say Hi / Siberian

In fact, I'd want to avoid the last day the most. Mars Volts? Hives? Blech.

It's hard to go against Brett and Jemaine on Day 3 (Flight of the Conchords) but that's a no-brainer for Day 1.

Bejar's doing double duty, I see.

Yeah, go with the first day. Dan the Automator is easily my favourite artist on any of those bills. Plus, The Kooks snap under the weight of their lack of musical ambition.

I suppose they're okay for trouser arousers. Brighton, lol.

I can't listen to the beginning of "Semi-Charmed Life" without wanting to say "the best of the '80s, '90s, and today!" I think this song was written to be a bed for promos more than a single.

I like days one and two of Sasquatch the best. The only appeal for day three, to me, is Jamie Lidell and Flight of the Conchords, and maybe The Hives since I'm a sucker for that kind of band. I'd say Day One's the best, though; R.E.M., The Breeders, M.I.A., Fleet Foxes, and presumably for pure "what the fuck" novelty value there's the kid that sounds like Johnny Cash who I imagine will be going on early before any of the actual good acts start.

Day Two has The Cure and Blue Scholars. I like Death Cab, but last time I saw them live they were incredibly boring (but it was, to be fair, Bumbershoot at the stadium, and the stadium really doesn't agree with a lot). The Cops are pretty cool, though.

After a few eps of Making the Band 4 this season, I went and downloaded a big chunk of all three albums. "Damaged" by Danity Kane, "Got Me Going" by Day26, and "So Over You remix" by Donnie J are all three good songs. Most of the songs I heard are pretty good. For three RnB/Pop albums they are really good.

Plus I do want Diddy's new tshirt "No Bitch Ass Ness" just for the sake of having something so funny and stupid at the same time.

Does anybody here think they have a really good ear and could maybe identify what chords are being played in a song? I'd really like to know what chords are being played in

song, but my ear's not so great.

The song is First Sight by These United States by the way.

My dad likes Celtic Woman now, apparently. How do people listen to that shit? Not gonna fault their voices, but the music is just awful sub-Riverdance dreck.

The recording of the song is terrible, so it makes it a little hard to discern some of the chords, but most of what's in there at the beginning is just standard jazz stuff, dom7s and whatnot. I can probably scratch out the full chord structure, at some point.

Ye gods, that lineup manages to combine the worst of rock past and the worst of rock present.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I feel foolish for predicting that The Wallflowers would be a band that would last.

I feel like listening to some surf rock. Anyone want to recommend anything somewhat obscure?

I like the Mermen, but I'm not sure how obscure they are.

I'm still not exactly sure what "surf rock" is. This board has taught me that the Beach Boys don't qualify, at the least.
