So it's looking pretty unlikely for Auburn to make it to the title game without a loss from OU or USC isn't it?

You know though it's not like the computers are holding Auburn out. The voters have them ranked #2 as well.

There's no legit reason to rank any of the 2 above the other at the top. If all three win out, one of the teams is getting screwed, so I've stopped worrying about it. I've seen people arguing for each team, and honestly there's no way to know unless you line them up and let them play.

I just hope that they have the sense to match the odd team out of the top 3 with Utah. That would be at least another must see game.

Guest The Shadow Behind You

It's proving once again that a +1 bowl game is neccesary here.

I'll never understand why they can't keep the current BCS/BOWL fourmula and have the four outright winners of the BIG FOUR Play a 4 team tournament.

I'll never understand why they can't keep the current BCS/BOWL fourmula and have the four outright winners of the BIG FOUR Play a 4 team tournament.

Because there will be a year where the damn thing works perfectly (see Miami vs. Ohio State in 2002) and then someone will bitch about how they should have won it all by winning the Sugar/Rose/Orange/Fiesta Bowl instead of having to win in the Super-Duper-It's-Not-A-Playoff-I-Swear Championship game afterwards.

The closest we'll ever get to that will be every major conference expanding to 12 teams and having a championship game like the MAC, SEC, and Big 12 have, which gives a team an extra game to raise their profile or send them back to the middle of the pack.

The ACC and Conference USA will be doing that next year.

The Big Ten could easily do this by inviting one team (Notre Dame is a likely choice).

The PAC Ten could do this by inviting two teams, but they'd probably be stealing from other BCS conferences. (Colorado was one of the teams mentioned in the past in this scenario)

The Big East might as well break apart or sever the football side completely from the basketball side because, otherwise, they'll have severe internal problems that will keep them from expanding. (The Big East has always been a basketball conference and they won't expand again unless a team brings a good basketball program with them, like Memphis.)

Memphis is lame, there IS a reason the Big East didn't want them to begin with. They don't draw dick in either sport and what fans they do have are trash (at least in basketball, I don't think they draw enough in football to make a judgement). I know, I'm biased since I'm a Louisville fan, but my disdain for Memphis comes from years of seeing their fans throw knives on the court against U of L and even last year they stormed the court after beating us by 4...when we didn't even have our two best players.

Anyway, the BCS. What is this continual shit with Georgia? This is NOT a real great team yet they continually hover in the BCS top 10 despite two losses. U of L at least moved up 1 spot to 9 but we should be #7 or so (the odd team out).

I think it is time to get rid of automatic bids. If your conference has a champion that is only #10 or so in the BCS, you shouldn't go ahead of someone that is ranked #7. Just take the top 8 in the BCS and have the bowls.
