Brock lesnar isn't getting over

Recommended Posts

...I say put him in there with Perfect, Storm, Kanyon (when he gets back), and maybe even Flair once or twice on house shows so he can learn pacing and psychology better.

Isn't that what he was supposed to learn down in OVW?

It's too bad the Rock's out, because he's the perfect sort of guy to help get Lesnar over. He'd bump like a maniac for all of Lesnar's offense and when he won it wouldn't really hurt Lesnar because the fans would find it believable. If Brock wants to get over he needs to start wrestling competitive matches against people and getting wins and losses, not squashing midgets and building up a "streak".

He's not over because the WWE basically makes it to where he isn't even noticed.  Take this analogy for example.

You're playing an a football game with your friends.  There is going to be a 5 on 5 game, but there are 13 people.  Only the better guys will be picked. This new guy with a lot of talent isn't picked and only subs in and is given a position where he can't utilize his speed or strength.  He looks pretty impressive but no one is picking up on him, and he is left unnoticed.  Who cares?

RVD, Eddy, Booker, or top guys like the nWo, Austin or anyone in the top teir should say Hey! Look at that guy, who does he think he is?  They should have him noticed by everyone on TV, or seen as a threat as in a champion always scared in the back of his mind that Lesnar will come take his title. You could seriously milk Eddy shuddering when he sees Brock in the back.  Making the fans just foaming at the mouth for Brock to just take him out.  They can brush by eachother in odd tag maqtches every now and then and never really get into a confrontation until BAM! it happens.

Seriously, why should anyone care about a monster which theyve seen so many reicnations of unless that monster is noticed by their favorite stars?

If Lesnar doesn't get over, they can always stick him in a mask and put long sleeves on. Teach him a chokeslam and there's money to be made!

Goldie just stood there no selling his opponent's (usually a jobber) offense, and looked good doing it (come on, don't tell me there isn't a markout factor when he gets hit with a german suplex, stands up and screams in their face after they turn around). Like another guy said, he kept adding new moves gradually and was just a really strong personality. He wasn't a great worker, but was really good in his role. Brock has been somewhat neutered, he shouldn't be selling the offense of a jobber like shawn stasiak. He barely sold those ridiculous chairshots from the Hardys.

Seriously, Stasiak does suck heat. That music just killed all hope for his character. I sotra enjoyed his other theme. Did you noticed the jackhammers at the beginning of Lesnar's theme, The WWE(f) knows what in the hell there doing. There not just putting him out there and not expecting the goldberg chants. But i did predict that Lesnar would bomb, but after seeing a lil bit of his ability, i have to stick up for him. He is a monster, but what until he has a long pay-per-view match with someone who isnt just a spot wrestler like Jeff Hardy.

I think that Brock IS over, but we want him to be better than what he is doing at this point.  To clarify, if Brock came out at this stage in his career, wrestled a back and forth technical match, adding some of his amateur mat style......busted out some of his more agile moves, threw in a shooting star press, and amazed everyone with his skill for a man his size, and showed everything he has.......where do you go from there?  He does not need to do all that right now.  All he has to do is establish himself.  Let's not hurry his career any.  I think we compare him to Goldberg too much and think that the WWE has planned to make him a Goldberg clone.  There are similarities, but there are just as many similarities to Kane or Undertaker, or any other wrestler billed as unbeatable when he first came in.

I agree that Brock's matches are boring, but they pretty much have to be right now.  He has let others get in some offense, and is selling pretty good.  The psychology for him is that it has a short term effect, and his opponents get the advantage, then he just shrugs it off and takes over with his power.  he is not totally no-selling their offense.

Give him time.....fans are into Brock.

Just as a side note from this thread and others.  Lesnar's move is not a TKO like Mero used, and it is not Sean O'Haire's move he used to do.  Mero did an Ace Crusher (Stunner, Diamondcutter) from the fireman's carry.  O'Haire did use the move once or twice, most memorably on Bradshaw in the early stages of the Alliance.  Usually, though, O'Haire had the opponent in a fireman's carry, their head held with his right arm, their leg with his left, then pushed their upper body up with his right hand and slammed them down to his left side onto their back.  Lesnar starts in a fireman's carry and spins them into a flapjack/quasi-DDT.

he still looks kind of lost when he's in the ring though.  i'm sure he'll "get it" pretty quick because he seems to have some natural talent.

NotJames Goldberg was not shoved down our throats like HHH was.  Goldbegr started getting over very quickly once they established a direction for him, it took HHH from WM 15 till Dec. 99 to get over while being given 5 matches on a show and never jobbing, Goldbeg was given one segment and never jobbed. They found the direction for him in Jan 97 and he was WAY over by March, that's hardly the same as HHH.

Yes Brock should have been given more time at OVW but that doesn't mean that he shouldn't be given good workers to wrestle on house shows to continue learning.  Shouldn't HHH have already known how to work properly before Owen walked him through their feud in 98 and Rock through the 99 feud and then finnaly getting it in January after Foley wlaked him through their street fights?

Don't blame Stasiak. Goldberg fought Jerry Flynn like 25 times during The Streak.

I don't see the same potential in him n0ow as I did when he was doing the run ins.  He is very green, but so was Goldberg and it took him about 3 months to become the most over guy in WCW.  I'll give Lesnar a couple of months to prove himself further.

One other problem is that there aren't any good/great workers for him to learn with at house shows, Goldberg got Flair, DDP, Sting, Raven, etc..., Lesnar gets Stasiak.  I say put him in there with Perfect, Storm, Kanyon (when he gets back), and maybe even Flair once or twice on house shows so he can learn pacing and psychology better.

He can't fight Flair. I agree with everyone who says Lesnar looks dumb. He has a weird body and his head is too small. he is over but only because he kills his oppionents so bad. I was high on him when he debuted but now I don't care about the dick.

What the hell are you people talking about?  He's only had like what?  5 matches?  Jesus Christ, give some people some time.  If someone doesn't impress you guys in two weeks then it bombed. Try to be patient.  Goldberg took like 3 months before he was really over.  Fans need time to get used to a guy.  Christ.
