Hogan / hendrix

Hey, I'm a huge Jimi Hendrix fan, and NOT a huge Hogan fan, and I was just wondering when and why Hogan began coming to the ring to Hendrix's classic "Voodoo Child".  Was it related to an angle at the time, and it just stuck?

Dennis Rodman used it first when he was in the nWo.  If I remember correctly, Rodman & Hogan began coming to the ring together, so I guess when Rodman was done, Hogan kept the music for himself.

I think he was a roadie for Hendrix along w/ Lemmy from Motorhead.

Who, Hogan? In real life or an angle? 'Cuz it'd be pretty hard to be Hendrix's roadie when Hendrix died over thirty years ago.  Well, how old do you have to be to be a roadie?

Ahh... Hogan and Rodman... classic pointless WCW celebrity appearances.

Vlad. For the 2.675.577th time. Voodoo Child and Voodoo Chile are two different tracks from the same album.

Since Hogan was 17 years old when Hendrix died it seems unlikely while not technically impossible. I have never heard of it anyway.

Wayzing - Ripping off Dames while having a bowl of that precious Voodoo Chili

Ah, I was joking, but Lemmy was.

When was this? I knew Lemmy was a roadie and bassist for Hawkwind, but never knew of him working for Hendrix. That's pretty interesting!

When was it? I don't know. Lemmy has brought it up in a few interviews I have read or seen.

Yeah, I remember Lemmy saying something about it on one of those vh1's 100 lists or something.

I think Hogan thinks that that young whippersnapper Jimi Hendrix is the cat's pajamas. He even took the time to learn a few words so he could both sing and litterally "Stand up next to a mountain and chop it down with the edge of my hand." :)

I think that line and the song better suits the Ultimate Warrior, personally :)

I wonder if Hogan would find some way to make the mountain sell his EDGE OF HAND CHOPS!

By the by, I have no problem with Hogan liking the song, it's just kind of annoying that Hendrix's estate wouldn't license Hendrix's songs for a movie about him but are all too willing to let Hogan use it as entrance music.

Hogan wanted to be a rock star before he became a wrestling. He was the Bass player for a local band in Florida in the 70's, but it didn't really go anywhere. He has always been a pretty big rock fan.
