Randy anderson died over the weekend

Randy "Pee Wee" Anderson passed away this weekend. Anderson was a ref for WCW as well as many Southeast indy promotions. The cause of death is not yet known but Anderson did have a serious bout with cancer a few years ago.

That's too bad. Nick Patrick & Randy became the top two refs for WCW in the early '90s. Most fans now probably only remember Randy for being "fired" by Eric Bischoff after he counted out the Outsiders to give the Steiner Brothers "the win" at nWo Souled Out '97, then coming out with his wife & two kids and Bischoff telling him he's "still fired", and for giving David Flair a roll of quarters to knock out Bischoff then winning the match. Bischoff got his head shaved by the 4 Horsemen.

I remember Bischoff firing him and then Randy returning with Ric Flair (i think).

RIP Randy Anderson.  You were always a great referee and I remember him long before the firing angle with Bischoff.  Unless I'm wrong he was with the NWA in the late 80's.

RIP Randy. He was a true class act (he stayed at work even with cancer for awhile).  

 

 

btw after bischoff fired him, didn't JJ Dillion rehire him?  Cuz I know he had been reinstated long before Flair became wcw president.  that confused me, cuz I have a tape of uncensored 97 and randy is the ref of the main event.

 

Also, do you remember that aftre he was fired, Bischoff gave him a chanc e to get rehired, he had him fight Nick Patrick (nwo ref at tht e time) the ref for the match was from wcw and gave randy some knux, randy kod nick and won.  but then bischoff said he cheated so he was still fired.
