Best way to get tickets

Recommended Posts

Guest The Mighty Damaramu

Hey this Saturday tickets for SMACKDOWN! in OKC go on sell. I am going to buy tickets on Saturday morning but I was wondering what everyone's methods were? I tried waiting in line but because of the stupid random draw I ended up in the top section. And then I tried ordering them online and I ended up in the top row! So how should I do it!? And a ticket broker is definetly out......I don't have that kinda money.

Well, the last event I was at was the brand extention at State College. We basically had two options. 1) wait outside the arena (which was regulated by a wristband lottery) or 2) wait outside a Uni-Mart. We chose #2. All I can say is try to find out some lesser-known establishment that is selling the tickets and wait there. The downside to the Uni-Mart, is that their computers went down for 30-45 minutes and by the time they went back online the entire floor section was sold out. I did manage to get the second row of the first section up from the floor (which were some nice seats), but that's a risk you'll take by going to an indirect outlet. There is, of course, eBay, but in PA (don't know about other states) it's illegal to sell tickets for anything over the face value so I could have bought some floor seats. Either way, best of luck!

since ticketmaster and the like started doing lottery, ive always had better luck online.

myself, i would never go to the arena itself way too many people will be there. Usually places only havs so many lottery spots they can give out too, so you are hurting yourself. Search the area for a smaller outlet, even if its a little further away... make sure they have a good computr system as was pointed out.

call another Ticketmaster outside your area (like in a neighboring state). Your states phone lines will be jammed but you can sneak into another states..just call them ahead of time and make sure they are carrying it (usually they are ive got Massachusetts events from the NY ticketmaster before)

If all fails and the event sells out..try a few days before the show. extra tix are always kept aside and then released close to the day of show. or go day of and buy from a nervous scalper 20 minutes into the show who is desperate to get rid of the tickets.

good luck

The WWF won't let them sell for more than face value, so if you want to take a risk, go for E-Bay. Otherwise, the smaller outlets work really well. I bought tickets at a local QFC once.

Hell yeah, E-Bay is a great way to get tickets. I got tickets for WM X8 in Toronto for less than face value. They were $120 tickets and I got 2 for $160. You can get some good shit on there.

Basically, depending on how many people are in line for the tickets, they do a raffle type deal, give you wristbands with a number on them. Depending on what number they start with, the people have to buy their stuff in the order after that number. Sucks for ppl like me who are ALWAYS in line for several hours.....blah

That lottery thing sucks!  I waited in line overnight for SmackDown (in Ottawa) tickets at my local ticketmaster office (in the Art's Centre), and got 2nd row, not too bad.

Last year when WWE came to Phoenix,  There was about an hour till the tickets went on sale and I made friends with someone 4th in line and I asked them if they would buy me a ticket.  I did give them I think it was an extra $15 but I got center section row 7.
