This is a pretty good summary of the Saudi government's pickle, as they try to deal with us and fight Osama at the same time. It's pretty good reading if you don't know much about the whole thing.

There are dictators in other countries that are more decadent (former Marcos regime in Philippines), more corrupt (Pakistan), and more oppressive (North Korea) than the Saudis but none seem to have quite that balance between the three and have radical religious fundamentalism to boot.
