Angle Talks About Backstage Fight...

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has an interview up

with Kurt Angle to promote the "Armageddon" pay-per-

view. He talks about the transition from amateur to

professional wrestling: "I really didn't start watching pro

wrestling until about 1997. When I did, I could really see

myself in there. I noticed how athletic these guys were,

and how fun and entertaining it was. And I became a big

fan. If you want to get in professional wrestling, you need

to be a fan first. Becoming a superstar will follow, if you

have the talent to do it. It was a lot tougher than I thought

it was. I've gotten hurt more in five years here than I did in

20 years of amateur wrestling." Angle also talked the

recent backstage fight between Eddie Guerrero and

himself: "Eddie Guerrero and I got into a real feud about

three months ago. We got in a fist fight. Eddie Guerrero's

a good man, but our personalities and styles clash. So

we've had some disagreements and tried to settle them

outside the ring. I found out quickly that's not the way to do

it."

On a side note, Kurt Angle turns 36 today.

Jamie Noble was a guest last night on the 'Between

The Ropes' radio show out of Orlando, FL. He was asked

if he was hoping to return to the WWE down the road. He

said that returning to WWE is the goal, and regardless of

how bad things look, it is the WWE, and it is where wrestlers

want to be. He has other goals, and he is happy right now

in New Japan. He would like to be in the Super J-Cup and

would like to wrestle some of the people he has never faced

in the ring. He would like to be back in the WWE within the

next year. (Thanks to Richard Trionfo)

Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey's reality series

'Maloof Brothers' has been picked up by SpikeTV for

eight episodes. In the series, the Maloof brothers will

use their business acumen to help transform struggling

family businesses into flourishing enterprises, according

to a news release. "Everything the Maloofs touch turns

to gold and we believe that their business acumen and

strong values will help to turnaround many struggling

family businesses," says Kevin Kay, Executive Vice

President of Programming and Production for Spike TV.

Bischoff and Hervey have also recently inked a first-look

(option) deal with Endemol, according to Variety. Earlier

this year, Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment sold eight episodes

of a Kathy Hilton -- mother of Paris -- reality series to NBC.

Ric Flair will be signing autographs at the Stacker 2 Xtreme

DirtCar Series booth on Friday in Evansville, IN.

Lance Storm has a new Q&A column up answering

questions on many subjects, including TNA competing with

the WWE: "I think (TNA) should try to find it’s own place in the

industry and become financially stable. It’s hard enough to

stand on your own in this industry why waste energy competing

with anyone. Fans will support more than one product so why

compete?" Link: http://tinyurl.com/6yrwc

Amy from Montgomery, AL sent this note in... I spotted Ted

DiBiase on the Frazer Christian Channel on December 8.

I tuned in right in the middle of the interview, but I took notes

and here's the scoop. Ted talked about how he hit rock bottom

and turned to Christianity that ultimately saved his life. He's

started his own ministry and recently returned from India. He

talked about his wife and three sons and how against he

is that they get into the business of wrestling. The host tried

to imitate Jesse "The Body" and how Ted would make a good

vice president and he would make a good president. Ted

said he has no political aspirations. Discussed how wrestling

is pretty much a soap opera; and that as far as wrestling, he's

full-time doing backstage work. They ended the interview with

the host pretending to be Jesse and Ted putting a sleeper

hold type move on him. Ted ended it with his signature evil

laugh. Ted never looked better.
