EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2004 http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,3...2587981,00.html What I find interesting is that there is a massive endeavour underway to collect negro league baseball statistics. I can't wait until it is published. Guys like Josh Gibson and Cool Papa Bell get noticed, but earlier stars such as Louis Santop, Biz Mackey, Cristobal Torriente, and Clint Thomas are largely forgotten. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2004 I didn't know they even kept stats for the games? On a related note. With the Veterans committee announcing the finalist, there's got to be much more deserving Negro League players who have been overlooked.

There were rarely official statistics compiled by the leagues. Newspaper boxscores provide most of the statistics we have available from those leagues.
