I like how they have an all-purpose position, no DTs and no safeties. Don't want to make voters actually have to look at the lesser publicized positions (DT or S) or make the tough decisions (Peterson/Arrington/Bush for two RB spots).

Cedric Benson deserved to be 1st team.  But I guess so do Arrington and Peterson.

I could live with Peterson on the 2nd team this year actually seems how he'll probably be first team for the rest of his career.

And on top of that I feel bad for Benson b/c he's had a great career but he always seems forgotten to me.

I also think it's dumb that we only get one tight end on each team.

4 Michigan players on the First Team. More than USC or Oklahoma and yet they had 2 losses this year. Damn Lloyd Carr.

*pats you on the back*

If I had to pick one team that I like in the Big Ten I'd say Michigan. I'm sorry.

Michigan is always up there with the USC's, OU's, Miami's, Florida State's, etc; year in and year out in the recruiting wars, yet they haven't been in the National Championship picture since 97. Yes, they always have a good record, but with the talent they have they should be competing for national titles, not Big 10 titles. I think alot of it has to do with Carr and his coaching staff.

I've heard this complaint before from Michigan fans. I'm hearing it so much as a matter of fact I'm starting to believe that they do have a shitty coach.

Tell me more.

Its not so much that Carr's a shitty coach. I think he's too conservative on offense. He's a 10 yards and a cloud of dust coach. I think he has an old school mentality. Don't get me wrong, I think he had to get the ball to Mike Hart, who along with Peterson, was a phenom Freshman running back, I just think he didn't rely enough on what alot of announcers were saying was the best receiving corps in the country. Braylon Edwards had a great year, but he could have done so much more, if Carr wasn't so conservative. Jason Avant and Steve Breaston also were top flight receivers who didn't get enough balls thrown their way. Now they did have a Freshman QB, in Chad Henne, but the kid didn't play like a Freshman when Carr let him throw the ball.

Defensively, Michigan had speed and talent, but they had alot of trouble defending against the spread offense, especially a spread offense that had a mobile and athletic QB. For example, Ohio State's Troy Smith, ripped Michigan apart with the option. They couldn't adjust their defense against OSU, and even though they beat Minnesota and San Diego State, they struggled mightily and had no business beating those two, without Lady Luck on their side. There's probably more I'm missing, but that's my main gripes with Carr and his staff.
