Bored 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Georgia Tech is pummeling Syracuse, 28-6. 35-6 at the half, Calvin Johnson can't be stopped.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Well, I thought Georgia Tech would win by a decent margin, but I didn't think it would be anything like this. The GT offensive line has been absolutely tremendous. It seems like every play PJ Daniels is already 10 yards into the secondary before he even gets touched. This is a rout in every sense of the word.

iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Yeah, that was kind of my theory too. I don't think I picked a single Big East team to win their bowl game in the pool.

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 22, 2004 I'd like a bowl game in the 3+ feet of snow that covers Buffalo. Make it a "Punishment" game for big name BCS teams that still qualify for a bowl but really sucked ass Boise doesn't cut it anymore.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Guess you could argue their currently is with the Hawaii Bowl seeing how Hawaii goes to it every year. Here's all the defunct bowl games, many of these were played pre-1950: Alamo Bowl (the original in 1947) Aloha Bowl (now the Hawaii Bowl All-American Bowl Aviation Bowl Bicardi Bowl (in Cuba) Blockbuster Bowl (one of the many incarnations of the current Tangerine Bowl) Blue Bonnet Bowl (lasted 28 years) Bluegrass Bowl California Bowl Carquest Bowl (another Tangerine Bowl connection) Cherry Bowl Cigar Bowl Citrus Bowl (Capital One Bowl now but of course many still call it the Citrus) Copper Bowl (now the Insight Bowl) Delta Bowl Dixie Bowl Dixie Classic Forth Worth Classic (no relation to the current Forth Worth Bowl) Freedom Bowl GalleryFurniture.com Bowl (now the Houston Bowl, thank god) Garden State Bowl Gotham Bowl Grantland Rice Bowl Great Lakes Bowl Hall of Fame Bowl (now the Outback Bowl) Harbor Bowl Los Angeles Christmas Festival Mercy Bowl MicronPC Bowl (another Tangerine Bowl connection) Oil Bowl O'Ahu Bowl Pasadena Bowl (the Junior Rose Bowl) Presidential Cup Salad Bowl (my favorite) San Diego X-Mas Classic Seattle Bowl (recent defunct lasting a whole two years) Shrine Bowl

Bored 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 The GMAC Bowl is where defenses go to die. It had the 64-61 Marshall/East Carolina game a couple of years again and right now it's 28-28 still in the 2nd quarter.

Bored 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Wow this turned into a surprising blow out after the super competitive first half. When will we get our first close bowl game? Guest Ether Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Those wondering. Derrick WIlliams orally commited to Penn St. Bad choice..imo. Penn St. is a bad program, and Williams had schools like Oklahoma, and Miami recruiting him. As much as it pains me to say it, a program that puts 100,000+ in the stadium for all of it's games can't be labeled bad. You're right in that I can't understand either why any top offensive player would want to go there.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 You're right it's not a bad program. It's really more of a bad team at this point. I'll be curious to know if other teams wo't continue to recruit Williams.
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 Wow... Cincy has completely bitch-slapped Marshall. They've scored 22 unanswered points since the end of the first quarter and there's only about 3-4 minutes left in the game.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 24, 2004 Wow... Cincy has completely bitch-slapped Marshall. They've scored 22 unanswered points since the end of the first quarter and there's only about 3-4 minutes left in the game. I'm not surprised. Marshall only got invited on name value this year. If you would've stuck Akron in there they would've put up a much better fight.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 This is the team that almost beat USC? They just lost to Wyoming!
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 Starting quarterback got K.O'd in the first half, so it's not really the same team. I thought UCLA was firmly in control at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but a few sloppy turnovers and the back-up's propensity to take sacks sunk them. Guest Ether Report post Posted December 24, 2004 This is the team that almost beat USC? They just lost to Wyoming! True. But if you were a UCLA player, who would you be more pumped up to play: Your in-city rival who is the #1 team in the country, or a team like Wyoming in a meaningless bowl game in 30-degree weather?
