Eclipse 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Wow, the demand for Nintendo DS has been....HUGE. I work at Toys R Us, and I was in the R Zone. The day DS was out, we had 100 DS's. Well, I didn't know that DS was gonna be a huge selling item. The initial shipment was gone the same day, and the 500,000 units shipped in the U.S....ALL GONE. I decided to wait for DS, since I didn't have the money yet. Well, I just started looking for it, and I haven't found it in ANY STORE. My friend found it in a local Best Buy, but went at opening. They only got 20 units. Before that, he waited a week, and found nothing. I have been searching this entire week. Our local GameStop said no DS until next month, Circuit City has none, and the Toys R Us I work at said HOPEFULLY this weekend. Damn, hopefully, I can get one. Guest Smues Report post Posted December 17, 2004 I picked mine up the day they came out, not thinking they'd go fast, but I was already up at Best Buy and I figured why not. Glad to hear it's selling well, I like my DS a lot. Everytime Nintendo does something new I have to worry about it being Virtual Boy 2004.
cbacon 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2004 I lined up at 8 am outside Zellers this morning to get one for my brother for xmas. It was worth it with the 15% employee discount. Too bad I could only buy one.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Nintendo basically screwed themselves here. They didn't make enough units for the season. My store is basically gonna get 6 more before christmas and I got at least 30 people on the waiting list to get one.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 At the Target I work at we've gotten just a couple this week and there are people already lined up at the door to get them as soon as we opened. We got in 2 Saturday morning and the first two people through the door ran to electronics and got them. 6 more followed in with them and didn't get squat. Eclipse 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 I just got mine today at Toys R Us, in a bundle. They got 200 units of DS in, which came with a starter kit, Spiderman 2, and the DS itself.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Not enough units, apparently bugs with the system (allegedly some problems playing GBA games that causes the unit to crash), next to no decent games out on release day... Who says Nintendo didn't learn anything from Sony? Mario 64 looks good and I like Ridge Racer, but the former is just an upgrade and the latter is a game I already own in several forms on another system, so Nintendo better make with the killer software. Any info on the Yoshi game's release?
Scroby 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I beleave Yoshi's game comes out in March. Mario 64 redone is so much better. More Stars, can play as Wario, Luigi, and Yoshi, and a lot more levels. Ridge Racer is done by top screen being your view and bottom screen is the wheel, you use the stylus to steer it. I hear Fear the Magic is a good game for the system and I haven't heard of any of the glitches that happen.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 2, 2005 I picked up one today and I like it just from the Metroid demo that came with it. I didn't buy any other games for it though. I was really bummed to find out Animal Crossing won't be out till September.
