Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2002 I don't mean to be Scott Keith by any means, but when Vince and JR say they are gonna focus on the Cruisers, then I want them to focus on the CRUISERS, GODDAMMIT! Anyways, Rey is signed, you can get other people into the fold, so...WHY, may I ask is there, well, hardly ANY good Cruiserweight matches on nowadays? Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Eddie vs RVD seems to be the only thing going on RAW. Where are the Luchadores? Will any of the mask men make in WWF, let Eddie Guerrero be the voice of the Luchadores if they must do promos. Maybe Chavo & Eddie could form a stable of Luchadores, with Black Tiger 3 & Dr Wagner Jr. Eddie needs to drop the Latino Heat gimmick, like yesterday
Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Eddie needs to drop the Latino Heat gimmick, like yesterday Word. His promos get better the closer they are to his 'natural' voice and further away from his 'character' voice too, IMO (even ignoring how insulting his character can be as one of the only Latinos on national wrestling TV...). On the other hand I don't think an all luchador stable would work just because... who would they work with? Who else in the fed is comfortable enough with the lucha style? Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Who else in the fed is comfortable enough with the lucha style? RVD, D-lo Brown, Hardy Boys, Beniot, X-Pac, Hurricane, Tajeri, Kidman, Lance Storm, Jericho, Hugh Morris, Val Venis, Kurt Angle, Edge, Christian. Luchadores like Dr Wagner & Black Tiger can work with anybody, just as long that they don't look or work like Big Show or Kevin Nash.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 8, 2002 TAKA was. Lynn was. Malenko doesn't work well with them unless they're like Juvi or Eddie. Kidman and Helms are very adaptable, and no doubt can work lucha style matches. And I'm not talking about a bunch of flips. I'm talking about actual matches built out of spots where little things like an arm-drag create a sense of machismo, between power and quickness, and create a subtl psychology. They could just go with Chavo as the rudo, and Mysterio as the technico and build from that. Tajiri can work decent with the style but he doesn't have enough ringman-ship to truly harness a match. Lucky he's a heel now. Just sign Juvi; he's an awesome rudo.
Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Hey, don't get me wrong. If tomorrow Vince dumped half his roster for the AAA/EMLL all-stars (or hell, even Los Vipers) I'd be thrilled. But the question should be rather if the US would accept such a lucha infusion over the style it's used to... At least bring in Polvo de Estrellas (sp?) to tag with Goldust! Guest Brian Report post Posted May 8, 2002 "RVD" With the stronger workers. "D-lo Brown" Probably. "Hardy Boys" Doubtful "Beniot" Duh. "X-Pac" Maybe, depends on him. "Hurricane" Soitanly. "Tajiri" Can but mainly with the stronger workers. "Kidman" Proven. "Lance Storm" Can but might not conform to the style. "Jericho" Yeah. "Val Venis" Yeah. "Kurt Angle" Probably not. "Edge" No . "Christian" Maybe.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 8, 2002 AAA/EMLL all-stars well bring in the Tijuana workers, Los Guerreros de Inferino, Super Guapos, Negro Casas, Dr Wagner, Black Tiger, Black Warrior, Satanico, Hector Garza, Electro Shock, AAA minis just to make RVD look bad. RVD vs Hector Garza in a spot fest cage match would be nice.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Eddie needs to drop the Latino Heat gimmick, like yesterday amen.. arent the steroetypical characters so 98? Eddie can get heat without talking like a cheech and chong extra..see the los gringos locos time. as far as the cruiserweights, i heard in the JR report that a cruiserweight division is on the way..(laughs hysterically) someday maybe but right now they are subteranean..they cant even see the glass ceiling, let alone be held down by it
Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Right now they couldn't be further from focusing on cruiserweights right now. I mean they have one match on Smackdown and one match on Metal each week and the majority of those have involved Tajiri and Kidman. Now I don't mind watching Kidman and Tajiri (Their match at Backlash was my match of the night) but two wrestlers does NOT make it that they are focusing on cruiserweights. Ugh WWE are hardly do anything right these days.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Because the WWF is new at this, they need to start out small. They only really have a handful of guys (Kidman, Tajiri, Hurricane) and build from there. They can't just throw out a bunch of guys; they have a hard enough doing that with guys that are further up, un their view, the totem pole.
Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2002 Sad really, the much vaunted cruiser division consists of Tajiri, Kidman and a valet.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted May 8, 2002 The WWF only has 5-6 matches on Smackdown most weeks anyway, so 1 cruiser match is about what you'd expect them to be giving. 1 CW match, 1 tag match, 1 midcard match, 2 main event matches (some combos of HHH, Angle, Jericho, Hogan, Edge, etc.), and maybe 1 other random match. Guest Report post Posted May 8, 2002 The crusier problem is that smackdown had like ya said 5 or 6 matches at most i got no problem with say a promo between angle and edge or something like that but the problem is that there are 3-5 backstage promos 99% of the time wiht Vince showing how an 50 year old man can lust after a 20 something girl which may be his fantasy but 1 its already been done and 2 no one wants to see it they have more crusierweights than just Tajri and Kidman so maybe work another match in cut the backstage bullshit and show case talent but keep the buildup for the Kidman Tajri stuff it looks good so far
