Downhome 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 People on DVDTalk mention it all the time, and I simply got up the nerve to try it for myself.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Car wash hose with soap spray directly at the disc for about 10 seconds, then rinse.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 I had a PS2 game that would always sk-sk-sk-skip then freeze up my system when I tried to play one of the cutscenes. So I tried boiling it, and except for a *slight* bit of skipping that doesn't freeze it up anymore, it works now after one minute boiling. So, I may run it through again, but this is good enough for now. Thanks, DH!
Downhome 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Sounds good Andrew, at least someone else got something out of this as well.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 I heard about this on the TeamXbox boards. I remember them saying since boiling it warps the disc, it fixes any mistakes that might have occured during manufacturing.
