Guest Mik at Cornell Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 Will Ferell announced that he is leaving SNL after 7 seasons. He said he wants to concentrate on movies, like his upcoming summer flick, Old School. In the movie, Ferell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson play 30 somethings who are upset with the direction of their life so they open their own frat next to the college. He will also reprise Mustafa in Austin Powers: Goldmember. SNL just got a whole lot worse...
Guest converge241 Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! please, tell me this is a joke!!! I selfishly never wanted Ferrell to leave (good for him though)
Guest Choken One Posted May 8, 2002 Report Posted May 8, 2002 While I'm glad that Ferrell has come to his senses and decided to add to his impressive supporting role movie career, hopefully, he can get more leading roles. However, SNL is doomed with only Brian Fellows to carry the show.
Guest Redhawk Posted May 9, 2002 Report Posted May 9, 2002 Hey, Brian Fellows is funny. And so is Tracy Morgan, the guy who plays him.
Guest What?! Posted May 9, 2002 Report Posted May 9, 2002 I sorta dig Horation Sanz. But Tracy Morgan is the best there now by default.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted May 11, 2002 Report Posted May 11, 2002 well i predict that SNL wont be around for another 5 years now. they will be lucky to make it 3 more yrs. lorne should just hang it up gracefully while he still can.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted May 11, 2002 Report Posted May 11, 2002 SNL will still be alive in 5 years, I don't know what the hell your talking about. Ferrel leaving does hurt SNL, but it was gonna happen. Just cuz Ferrel's leaving, doesn't mean SNL will die. They still got some great guys like Kattan, Hammound, Sanz, Morgan and I see some great potential in Seth Meyers. Plus, SNL is always able to find "The Next Big Thing" in comedy and they will be around for way more than just 5 years.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted May 12, 2002 Report Posted May 12, 2002 declining ratings have hit snl in the past 3 yrs. People are getting tired of it. Now, who will do the Bush impression?
Guest The Electrifyer Posted May 12, 2002 Report Posted May 12, 2002 Give it to Hammound.... he can do anybody.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Give it to Hammound.... he can do anybody. Exactly
Guest Ravenbomb Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Can Hammond to Alex Trebek? (PS, if Hammond does this person I'm gonna look like an idiot, but who does Sean Connery in the CJ skits?)
Guest treble charged Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Methinks the Celebrity Jeopardy days of SNL have come to an end.
Guest J*ingus Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Maybe it's just me, but I haven't found the vast majority of the recent SNL alumni funny, Ferrell included. I thought he was beyond awful in Dogma, just completely chewing the scenery and mugging to the camera the entire time. That being said, I'm sad to see him go, because Celebrity Jeopardy was the only thing I liked him in.

Guest art_vandelay Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 Can Hammond to Alex Trebek? (PS, if Hammond does this person I'm gonna look like an idiot, but who does Sean Connery in the CJ skits?) ^idiot. j/k And Tracy Morgan, the only good thing on the show?? WTF? I think he sucks ass. The Brian Fellows sketches have no content whatsoever, and is nowhere close to being the best recurring skits on the show. I'll still tune in every week for Haratio Sanz and Maya Rudolph.
Guest J*ingus Posted May 13, 2002 Report Posted May 13, 2002 you mean Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? Oops. Yeah, that's what I meant.
Guest Jericholic82 Posted May 15, 2002 Report Posted May 15, 2002 oh man, I loved the celebrity jeopardy sketches they always have me in tears. heres a classic quote Trebek: Ok I am just going to hold up an object and anyone just buzz in and tell me what it is.. (holds up a hammer) Minnie Driver: A popsicle? Trebek: Are you English or retarded? No one knows? It's a frickin hammer! Connery: You wouldn't have known that if you didn't have those cards.
