Guest Risk Report post Posted May 9, 2002 I'm sure a lot of us could have thought up a better name than World Wrestling Entertainment. What name do you think the WWE should have used? My choices are as follows. WWFE(World Wrestling Federation Entertainment) WWWF(Worldwide Wrestling Federation) WCW(World Championship Wrestling) UWC(Universal Wrestling Corporation) UCW(Universal Championship Wrestling) NWA(National Wrestling Alliance)-Vince could have bought this name, using OVW and HWA as his territories, he could then use one of the other names for his main promotion. WCW(World Championship Wrestling) No. For two main reasons. 1. The WCW name is destroyed and 2. That would let WCW win the war in Vince's and many fans eyes. No way Vince wants to have WCW outlast WWF. And I can certainly see where that's coming from on that. It would almost be like admitting defeat. UWC(Universal Wrestling Corporation) UCW(Universal Championship Wrestling) They both REEK of Indy NWA(National Wrestling Alliance)-Vince could have bought this name, using OVW and HWA as his territories, he could then use one of the other names for his main promotion. Guest Risk Report post Posted May 9, 2002 Vince could have used the name WWFE for his developmental promotions--OVW and HWA--and used WWF for his main promotion. That way WWFE could be used for ALL the events with the promotion's name under it(i.e. WWFE WWF, WWFE OVW, and WWFE HWA). Man, 2001 sure was a bad time for wrestling--WCW and ECW died and the WWF got sued. I bet Bischoff and Turner are laughing their asses off at that...well, maybe just Turner. When was the last time anyone referred to the Wwf as a 'wrestling' promotion? Well, except for every fan. Why not just change it to Sports Entertainment Federation? Don't hate the pandas or the fund. Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted May 9, 2002 I would rather they just phase out the term WWF and just have the Raw brand and the Smackdown brand. Just call the titles Undisputed title, Intercontinental title, European title, etc. without WWF in front of them. People just go on naturally assuming that it is the same WWF, just without it being mentioned on the show. All they would need is a corporate name which would probably never be mentioned much, and, I think it could work.
