Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 1.) Favorite world title match at the PPV? Royal Rumble 1992. If that doesn't count, then Angle/Benoit. 2.) Favorite Rumble match? 1992. A number of guys who could logically win it, especially at the end, numerous big storylines in the match (Flair's run, Hogan/Taker, Savage/Roberts, Sid heel turn, Piper's two shots in one night), plus golden commentary. 3.) Favorite Rumble match elimination? Mr. Perfect eliminates Ric Flair in 1993. I was marking out huge at this. I was a huge Hennig fan in the early 90s. 4.) Favorite mini-match within the Rumble? Ted Dibiase & Randy Savage vs. Jake Roberts & Roddy Piper from 1990. Possibly the four most over people in the company aside from Hogan & Warrior, three of them were great workers and Piper always fit in well with the Rumble style. 5.) Favorite non-world title, non-Rumble match? Quebecers/Harts from 1994. 6.) Favorite pre-Rumble promo? Heenan's Family in 1989. More intrique was raised in 30 seconds than most modern wrestlers can do in 30 minutes. 7.) Things you hated besides Vince winning the '99 Rumble? From the PPV, Taker/Yoko from 1994. Pure wrestlecrap. From the Rumble match, the numerous times in 1999 where either nobody or one wrestler was left in the ring leaving for gaps where nothing happened at all (this happened at least three times, with Droz, Road Dogg & Shamrock). No excuse for that, just sloppy booking.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 One of the coolest things that no one has mentioned was Randy Savage(face) and Arn Anderson(heel) teaming up to eliminate Shawn Michaels in 89. The Warlord's elimination has to be in the top 3 for shortest time in the ring, he posed on the apron and as soon as he stepped in Hogan clotheslined him out. Edit: From 89 I liked the "Number Swap" that Slick and Dibiase did, it also had a pay off in 1990 with Dibiase getting number 1.
