Tom Flesher sits in the locker room, his head in his hands, completely motionless. We can see him breathing heavily, still sweating, still stinging from the match earlier tonight. Life is overwhelming, heavy is the head that wears the crown... I love to be the one to disappoint you when I don't fall down... He wanted to disappoint them tonight. He wanted X Force 9 to feel foolish. He wanted them to feel like they had put their whole lives into something, worked hard their entire careers, all leading up to this moment... and he wanted to dash their dreams to the ground. But you don't understand what I'm attempting to explain... Because you know it all and I guess things will never change... And who came out on the short end tonight? The camera swings around, and we see Flesher sitting, his eyes wide open. It looks like he's been up for six days straight, subsisting on a diet of nothing but whiskey. His bloodshot eyes belie the fact that it's barely been an hour since The Match. The pulsing veins in his forehead lie for him, telling us he's been awake all night watching match films, when in fact he's just been replaying the match in his head. "How did he do it?" he mutters to himself. "How the hell did he do it?" Your disposition I'll remember when I'm letting go... Flesher sits, still stunned and shocked by the loss. He can't bring himself to reach down to his waist, to feel nothing around it but the waistband of his jeans. He can't bring himself to look down, only to see no shining gold in his lap. We're through... He knows what he has to do. Thank god it's over... But it's not over. Just think about it... you'll get it.

Though... more people would've responded if you started beating up lepers with canes and thrown pennies at people from a tower, in a city parade
