JoeDirt's old school match thread

Recommended Posts

Great stuff guys. Could someone who DL'd them pretty please re-up Sting/Luger v. The Steiners and the Pillman/Austin gun angle? I wish I'd seen this thread a week ago because I've been looking for both of those for ages.

Here's Ric Flair v. Terry Funk from the 1989 Great American Bash

Watching through that WCW Clash someone posted earlier...I thoguht the Koloff attack on Sting was great...thought it would have been hillarious if Koloff had attacked the kid like he was threatening to do ;)

Phantom Title switch was hot stuff. Bob looked quite good in that, and that running knee-into-abdominal stretch was fucking sweet. Need to send that tape to HHH, and maybe he'd bust that out every once in a while like the old school stalling suplex.

The WWE officially recognizes Antonio Inoki as a WWE Champion.

They have so for many years. No "Phantom/Dusty/etc." change preface needed.

Hope you all liked this, I never saw it before I DL'd it.

I have the following matches on the way:

Pedro Morales def. Ivan Koloff for WWE Title

Steiners retain WCW Tag Titles against Lex & Sting

Texas Tornado def. Mr Perfect for IC Title (plus pre-match promos)

EDIT: WHAT THE HELL? I hold in my hands, right now, a Raw Magazine where Inoki is regarded as a WWE Champion, and Backlund is credited as having defeated him for his 2nd WWE Title.

But on wwe.com's Title History section, Inoki's reign is totally ignored. Bullshit.

E-Mail WWE.com about it, you MAY (doubtful, but still) get an answer about that.

If you guys want, we could try to create a big List of every WWE Title Change and try to find them all.

I personally want them all to burn to VCD or DVD, "them all" meaning any changes which I don't have on old Videos or DVDs already.

The old title changes are obviously more difficult to find.

I need:

1 - Sammartino def. Rogers

2 - Koloff def. Sammartino

4 - Stasiak def. Morales

5 - Sammartino def. Stasiak

6 - Graham def. Sammartino

7 - Backlund def. Graham

9 - Backlund def. Inoki

10 - Sheik def. Backlund

14 - Hogan def. Savage

16 - Slaughter def. Warrior

22 - Flair def. Savage

27 - Bret def. Yokozuna

28 - Backlund def. Bret

30 - Bret def. Diesel

32 - Sid def. Shawn

34 - Bret def. Vader, Undertaker, Austin

35 - Sid def. Bret (Raw)

41 - Austin def. Kane (Raw)

46 - Rock def. Mankind (Ladder Match)

48 - Taker def. Austin (OtE 99)

49 - Austin def. Taker (Raw)

51 - Mr. McMahon def. Triple H

52 - Big Show def. HHH and Rock

53 - Triple H def. Big Show

57 - Angle def. Rock

58 - Rock def. Angle

61 - Austin def. Angle (Raw)

62 - Jericho def. Austin (Veng. 01)

65 - Taker def. Hogan (Judg. 02)

69 - Angle def. Big Show (Arma. 2002)

72 - Lesnar def. Angle (Smackdown! Iron Man Match)

That's what I need.

(BTW, there have been 74 official WWE Title Changes. I'm not counting forfeiture (Andre, Hogan, Shawn, Mr. McMahon, title held-up after Austin loses to both Kane/Taker as a "change".)
