And what's wrong with the Hurricane gimmick? It's fun, and it gets him over.

It's a stupid gimmick and he can be just as over as Shane Helms.

I don't have faith in either the bookers, the writers, or Helms himself to get over without the Hurricane gimmick. Besides, he's so far into the gimmick and over with the fans that ditching it wouldn't make a difference... he'd get "Hurricane" chants no matter what.

I hope he keeps it.

I liked the gimmick better when he was a heel. Actually having him be a good guy superhero kinda takes the fun out of it if you ask me, but it's not that bad a gmmick as long as he wins (which he hasn't but...you know). As far as the note...I dunno who it was, but I like the angle. "I know who you are"...cute.

If the WWe  - ugh! - gave Hurricane/Shane/Gregory Helms 8-10 minutes to work a real cruiser match, and had it end with the Vertebraker for a clean win, he'd get over.  He'd get over with the masses with a finisher like the Vertebraker (hell, call it something stupid like the "eye of the hurricane" if need be)

If they let people work a unique style rather than the bland WWF style, most people can get over.

RVD and Tajiri WERE good examples of that.

I would mark out like ye olde little bitch if that happened.

I dunno about that.  Shane Helms is a dopey-looking guy with braces.  I can't see him being accepted as anything but a comedy character at this point.

I think it was Albert. Just because he is a HOSS~ and because it's been 2 weeks since his last failed push.

Yeah, and what a push it was—no mike time and fighting Rikishi.  Guess it is his fault, though ... I mean, the WWF had already built such a strong character for him.

Why would it make sense to have people like Test or Scotty 2 Hotty? Aside from the fact that Scotty is injured the note said "you've got your win but i know who you are." This obviously is hinting towards somebody new, Test knows who the Hurricane is, they were part of the alliance and whatnot.

I can't see it being Rey, he really can't play a heel, people naturally cheer everything he does (at least I do.) Nova or Moore could work as they both have played heels before. I can't for the life of me ever remember Rey playing a heel. Plus, the whole superhero thing works far too well for it not to be Nova.

King of Old School - One stop late-WCW history shop. Ok, not really, but I'm decent at remembering all these idiotic little angles they had towards the end.

New Blood comes into power, during April of 2000. Sometime later, Konnan, Rey Jr, Tygress, and Juvi Guerrera make an appearance as new members of the 'Blood; they are the New Filthy Animals. Kidman is heel at this time, although he later turns face in spite of his former stable members, as the Animals have a hand in kicking him out of the New Blood....

Well, New Blood was a heel stable, therefore Rey Jr was a heel. He PLAYED a heel, but he wasn't a good one, as the crowd still popped for everything he did. He still played one though. Sometime later, as the New Blood was winding down and splitting off into separate alliances, Konnan began having issues with Shane Douglas, fellow member of the NB. The Animals eventually turn face, and K-Dogg, Rey, and Tygress...now along with Disco Inferno, join back up with Kidman.

One small detail I'm forgetting, is when exactly Juvi was fired, leading to Disco coming into the Animals. I have no idea of whether he was a part of the new-Face animals for a time or not. A small oversight though.

Its either Nova or Shannon More

Nova would make sense because Nova's own "Superhero" "Creator of every Wrestling move" Gimmick would be a great arch rival of Hurricane Helms

and Moore because of the history there

Rey Mystero is less likely, and I doubt sincerly he'd ever put the mask back on because it would be a slap to the luchador traditions if he put the mask back on after he lost the right to wear it

I said Test because not a soould wants it to be him and it would just end up in a heatless feud, but Test is due for a failed push.

Is anyone else really hoping that Mild-Mannered Gregory Helms starts to investigate?

Like it matters. Nova/Moore won't make a difference and Most people already forgotten about Mysterio. Who is it? I'd love to see Mysterio play the role but why should he wear a mask? We know what he looks like...so it's pointless. I know in Mexico it's an honored tradition like 'Roids are honored American traditions but in America all we wonder when we see a masked man is "I wonder what he looks like, where's my nachos?". Nova looks goofy any we got plenty of goofy people already, starting with the Top Guy. Moore looks identical to Christian, only shorter. It'd be hard to tell the difference. But, If I was a betting man (and I am), I'd bank on either a idiotic choice such as the aforementioned Test or Albert or an meaingless cruiser like Moore or Nova that won't make all that much difference.

Well, you can stop all debating. It will be Shannon Moore. Why? I have my sources, and if anyone important wants to ask me.... Jay knows me IM.

I'm just confused by the whole "Hurricane" character.

Are we supposed to know that he is Gregory Helms?  Are the wrestlers in on the joke?  Al Snow looked like he was, but I remember a few months ago when Helms was talking to Christian, and Christian didn't "know" that Helms was the Hurricane.

I don't think the writers know either. That could be a problem...

The problem with that is, should the announcers be in on it?  Since they are basically fans watching it and telling us what's going on, if they don't say that they know Helms and Hurricane are one in the same, they come off looking like idiots.

The Hurricane and Gregory Helms are the same person? Then who's Shane Helms? ;)

Gregory Helms' evil twin.  It was his plan to defame the good Helms' name by singing in a boy band, and being involved in angles with Tank Abbott.

LoL @ that.

Ryder, is that you?

My udnerstanding, judging by the old Mild-Mannered Gregory Helms "interview" segments and Snow's demeanor on SmackDown is that we're supposed to know he's actually Gregory Helms, but he's convinced that no one knows his "secret identity."

Unfortunately, when this stopped being a PURE comedy gimmick and they started giving him a big face push, that sort of got lost in the shuffle.

Regal didn't know either when Gregory Helms interviewed him last November

Yes, and we all know that Cole does everything he can to keep from looking like an idiot.

Err.. Just saying cause I met Shannon Moore the other night, and he all but confirmed to me that it was him.

No, you fools, it's Tank Abbot! Tank Abbot is a HOSS~! AND he's INTENSE~! so how could it NOT be him?

Although, it could be Chavo Jr. back to re-start their feud from the last days of WCW

Guys think about it...

-The mystery man knows Helms

-they obvisuly have a past, whetehr it be good or bad

-Helms doesn't know who it is from

If you think about it, to make a good, quality angle that invokes continuity and psychology than it can only be one person...

La Parka

GENIUS!!!

*Remebers Glory Days of the poll forum when every poll had La Parka in it*

In all serious, La Parka was the Shit.  I mean, even in WCW when he was a jobber, he was one of the most over luchadore, probably just behind Rey Rey and Juvi. He was Hardcore too. Where the hell is he?

I think its Nova doing a Dark Hurricane or something like a Cyclone gimmick. Hes got the superhero gimmick down pat and i dont think they would have Shannon do it as it would lead to a whole stable of superheros/supervillians a la "blood runs cold" where you had 4 mortal combat mofos running around. When Rey comes in i think they will stay true to the rumpred word, that they will give him the megapush seperate from this type of thing
