Noah's Ark v2.0

My hometown of Frostburg, Maryland has been home to this...thing...since the 1970s. A man is building it as a replica to house a bible college and auditorium. Known as "God's Ark Of Safety", it has basically been the same collection of metal beams since before I was born. I have seen very, very little change to the actual site for as long as I can remember, though every once in a while I might catch a new beam or two in place.

I've heard from various sources that this is actually a pretty famous thing, and that it is recognized and people know my hometown because of it.

For reference, these are other possible things my hometown and/or surrounding area could be known for:

- William H. Macy's birthplace (about 10 miles away)

- Lefty Grove Memorial (he was born about 6 miles away...not sure how many people know this guy)

- birthplace of "Eddie Degan" (sp?) from Grease.

- Washington Redskins training camp home for about 4 years in the mid 90s.

Still, this thing deserves to be pointed and laughed at. I've read a few interviews with the pastor claiming that the completion of this building has something to do with Armageddon. (Apparently WWE is holding a PPV there or something)

If you notice from the pictures, it's still just a few steel girders. Nothing else. I think there may be a small office building type thing to the side of it, and it's flanked to the right by a USED CAR LOT, but meh...it's just a "side of the highway" type of thing.

I just got back from a roadtrip a couple of weeks ago and actually saw this thing while passing through. Of course I looked at it from the road, but didn't think much of it.

Someone has already done this though.

There is a wood replica of the Ark in Tennessee I think or somewhere in the Southern States.

It was huge, but no way was I going to stop and check it out. 30 bucks to walk inside? No thanks.
